Those look like garbage. I doubt they even offset the vacuum your engine creates, let alone create any positive boost pressure inside your engine. Do the math. If you engine is drawing 175 cubic inches of air into its cylinders per revolution and you are turning at 5,000 Revolutions per minute, that would be, in a perfect world, 875,000 cubic inches of air per minute. Even if you divide that by 1,728 (12 x 12 x 12), you still have a draw of over 500 CFM.

Seems that if these are capable of 250 CFM, then you might get your manifold to record some pressure if your RPM was less than 2,500 and everything else was perfect.

I think you'd be better to use these to cool your face on a hot day.

 

I looked over those eletric ones before and another problem I see is that the flow would be constant, unlike a mechanical supercharger. The RPM of the engine would drive the belt to the charger and increase or decrease the flow as neceassry (boost/vac). Even if the CFM was close, there would have to be a way to tie into the vehicles tach which would adjust the electric blower as necessary. If it couldn't do that, the steady flow of air at idle would give the computer all kinds of wacked out readings.

Ya Bro, I put one of those ****'s on my Honda Civic yo. Car be pushing 500 hp now.

 

it says that its controlled by a button the driver uses to turn it on and off. so just imaging how much air that thing is blocking when not in use!

so basically its only used at WOT.

and my first thought is what ultra dog said....it probably wont even keep up with the vacuum the engine creates.

 

Yeah, but on a 1.6L, it's probably capable of producing some sory of positive manifold pressure.

 

Cheaper and easier to just throw a leaf blower on....lol

beleve it or not ive seen someone using a leafblower at the track, dude just poped his hood in the pits and pull started it. i dont know if it idi anythin for him but he was hitting 12s.
