Ebay mandrel bent 3" pipe shapes...

I ordered this box of various bends, turns and it arrived yesterday.
$75.95 + $17.95 shipping = $92.95 (included paypal fee I think) to my door.
The box....

Just opened...

Packing removed ...

Individual pieces ...

The reason I bought these is that I'm still evaluating the best route for flow and ground clearance and I need some pre-bends to help with this.
I have an 8' piece of 3" as well. I'll run off the down pipe end and see what looks the best.

Considering my local NAPA want's 40 and 50 bux per bend, I think this box o' bends is a great deal.

Here's the text from the ebay motors ad...
Here is a brand new universal piping kit to help you fabricate your

new exhaust or intake from durable 16 ga aluminized steel. Kit includes

everything you see in the pic. 2- 90 degree bends, 2- 150 degree

bends, 4- 45 degree bends, and 2- 90 & 45's in one piece. These

are mandrel bends so there is no wrinkles, compression, or de-

formation in the bend area. Shipping is just $17 anywhere in the

lower 48 states. Any questions feel free to ask.

Take note this is made from 3" aluminized steel.

Not a bad price, does he offer non-aluminized mild steel as well?

I ended up getting a kit from CRXRacing (yeah yeah). It was like $105 shipped but it's actually aluminum pipe plus it came with some nice stainless t clamps and some couplers.

Yeah, they're great for that. That's where I got my cold side piping/couplers.

I always bought my stuff local from an exhaust shop that had a mandral bender. It was $4/bend for 2.5" or $5 for 3". The reason it was so cheap, is it was the "cut off" or "mistake bends". Normally had some small lines in it, no creases or anything and worked great. My little cousin works for them now, and they were asking him when the next time I was going to need some bends was (i would buy the whole bin that they had at once lol)

I got my intercooler kit from them, and for the dollar it can't be beat. Bar and Plate over tube and fin, plenty of bends, couplers, clamps, and the lot for under $200 with a giant intercooler.

FWIW there are a *lot* of places that use CXRacing as their "cheap staple". I know a few Supra guys with their stuff and more DSM guys than I can count. It's all China stuff, which has drawbacks of course.

Dave -
I understand the price being extreme for the Dr Gas ovalized tubing, so do you think you're just going to run the 3" and see what you can come up with?

I was looking at the unbalanced engineering's decoupled torque arm (making note of the geometry and a assuming a car with a transmission tunnel brace) and was thinking maybe one could have a custom rear trans mount made up that would still allow for some good exhaust routing. It'd take some fabrication, but it might be worth it.

I figured cheap pipe worked better than cheap turbos.

I'm thinking I like cheap turbos better... There is absolutely NO reason whatsofingever that a turbo should "cost" $1500+ . As soon as the wheel touches down rebuild the thing for $35 and run it for another year.

To each his own. I would rather spend the cash and know that a company will stand behind its product than deal with the junk turbos sold on ebay.
