to the dyno, james

Well, I pulled it on to the rollers, and with out even putting a fan in front of it (air/air IC) did a quick pull on 12psi to see how it was doing.

Was happy with the results.. unfortunately the PC the dyno shop was using couldn”¦t sample fast enough, and I got no data past 5800rpm But at 5800 rpm, conservative tune, 12psi, pump fuel she made 640rwhp/655rwtq. The HP curve was still heading up(motor pulls strong to 6600) so I am estimating it woulda been around 650-660rwhp had the PC not stopped at 5800.

So I was pretty please, figured I would crank up the boost to 25psi, and put in race gas. This is where things got bad. The race fuel was bad, and the car would barely even run ƒ¼ as soon as the car would hit 2-3psi, the car would buck. Just incase there was something funky going, I reset everything back to way I came in.. still no dice.. as soon as the boost gauge moved, stuttered.

Judging by the way it ran on 12psi, it should easily hit 900rwhp+ (my goal) on higher boost levels. Made over 600rwhp by 5k rpm! Nice broad curve. Was making over 560rwhp @ 4500.

the motor is only 8.8:1, so I can (and have) run 15psi on pump gas. I expect over 700rwhp in this configuration on pump gas.

Weeee this thing is fun. Cant wait to get some good race gas in it and let it fly

o BTW, any reason you picked 8.8 compression and not lower?

Musser you are just plain crazy. You are rubbing off on BadazzZ28 here in New York. He has been talking craziness lately. Those numbers rock on BS pump gas, can't wait for the race gas digits

Found a broken ground wire in the LTCC harness. Turned out i did have it all wired up properly.

badazz-
8.8:1 is already low, considering my last motor was 12.5:1 I still road race/autoX this car, and I wanted the car to run decently on low boost.

8.8:1 with the right timing should make 900rwhp on C16 pretty damn safely.

jnj-
yea, I am stoked.. I was hoping for 600rwhp on pump, but 700rw should be cake.

yeah if you are expecting it to make 700rwhp on pump gas i would say its definately a good compression #, something for me to think about...not that i would ever think about a boosted motor or anything

i love how "autoX low boost" for you is still over 600whp, haha...

Jordon, not sure if you've checked your email so i thought this was a good place to ask this. is 9.1 compression good enough for what we're doing w/ my car? my concern is the pump gas. 92 octane is the best i can get around here w/out having to drive 30-45 min to get race gas.
