Dyno Disapointment

Okay So I took my T/A WS6 to be Dyno'ed and I was disappointed. Maybe i shouldn't have been but I want some other opinions. Should I be disappointed or should I be happy? I would post the Chart, as usual when i go their computer is messed up so they couldn't print from it.

I was able to get 285hp and 310 ft/lb with a 9lb pulley. I believe the rest of my car spec's are in my signature.

LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS!!!

I'm no expert, but something is WAY off here. You have an extensive amount of mods and a SC but you are putting pretty much the same numbers down as a M6 LT1!??!

See thats the thing, I feel a ton more power that I had prior to the sc install, but it doesnt reflect it on the dyno.

Dynos aren't the end all to measuring performance. Take it to the track and see what it does. I question the dyno more than the car. If they can't get the printer to work then how are they competently running the dyno?

That's what I was thinking but everyone seems to think their reputable, but every time I've been there something with their computer isn't working, or once i went and they were having troubles with the braking system for the dyno? Just REALLY Frustrated, to make matters worse, when I left the headers blew a gasket..

wow my lightly moddified stock build 355 kt1 put down 315/315 thru an auto!

those number look like a stock m6 with headers and intake!

yeah i agree with everyone else here,...somethings fubar'd. you can put those #'s down with a cam and headers. now when you say it has a 9psi pulley on it, what size are we talking about here? sounds like you dont have a boost gauge for one, so you cant see how much yer putting out, and powerdyne's usually have a tough time putting out what they claim, i know, i have one. the 2.7 pulley is the 9 psi, 2.93 is a 6 psi and the 3.12 is the 4.5psi. these are all with the 6.5" crank pulley. when you add haeders, a cam not really meant for boost, and such, you're going to increase engine flow, thus decreasing restriction, thus lowernig your boost.

my plan was originally for a 383 with my powerdyne but i quickly realize it wasnt going to push the amount of air it would need so i stayed 350 and im about to install better bearings and spin the b!tch faster with a 2.5" pulley with a 7" crank pulley. with the 7" and 2.93" im getting about 6-7 psi. Another thing, without a boost gauge, you dont know if your belt could be slipping, which is another issue with the powerdyne setup. you gotta make sure that belt is pretty damn tight, and i know its tough to put pressure on the stock tensioner setup (im working on a fix for that).

what kind of a/f ratio were you running? how much timing is in the tune? you sure you got enough fuel feeding it? if yer still on stock injectors I would definitely urge you to upgrade to at least 30 or 36 lb'rs or you WILL melt a piston eventually, when the injector decides its had enough.

I would say you should be putting down somewhere in the high 300's to maybe 400 RWHP mark. Somethings DEFINITELY not right.

Get a boost/vacuum guage on there and see how much boost your making. If your short on funds you could rent one from autozone and tape it to the windshield for testing purposes. Just unhook one of the vacuum lines and hook the boost guage in there and take it for a 3rd gear street run. Your probably getting belt slip or maybe the BOV is not working.

I brought my vacuum hose in through the firewall down by the pedals. I drilled a larger hole, then put a rubber grommet, then ran the vacuum hose through the grommet. Then I ran the hose to my dual pillar guage pod. I T'd my vacuum hose off the drivers side intake manifold where the egr gets its vacuum from.

in thinking about your dilema the last 24 hours, are you absolutely sure the blower is producing ANY kind of boost whatsoever? maybe the internal belt broke? also, ws6pilot brings up a good point, do you have a bypass valve?

I would just temporarily hook up the gauge for testing and take a quick ride, and report back.
