Re: dsm bov

Get a used one off ebay or www.dsmtrader.com... They'll run a lot less then $100...

And also make sure it's the 1990-1994 (metal) and not the 1995-1999 (plastic).

How much does the plastic one hold? I flipped mine around backwards and noticed more boost.

I'im thinking about going to one of those blow off valves but I don't know how that will affect the blowers effeciency out of boost.

Re: dsm bov

I'm using a '95 - '99 DSM BOV. They're generally reliable up to 15 psi. The 2G DSM guys upgrade to the 1G BOV if they're trying to approach 20 psi boost. I think the factory Vortech BOV is good to aroun 11 - 12 psi.

Re: dsm bov

I think my BOV is on the way out too.

So you have to weld the DSM BOV to the intake elbow with a flange like the Mondo?? or is it a bolt on replacement for the plasitc Vortech part?

Re: dsm bov

The 2G DSM pieces looks like the Vortech unit, only larger. It has hose connections, both sides, but larger.
