DIY Boost Control Solenoid
DIY Boost Control Solenoid
Hey guys, I've searched through the archives but couldn't find what I was looking for. I remember a while back some people were talking about EGR solenoids that can be used for switching boost between two boost controllers for multiple boost strategies.
I'm looking to do something similar, but not quite that. I want to have a normally open solenoid that is in line with a normal ball and spring boost controller. That way if the solenoid fails I will still have normal boost control. And for everyday street driving I can have low boost. And when I flip the switch it will activate the solenoid and then be controlled by my Accel DFI Gen 7 to control to the proper boost setting.
Does anybody have a part number of an EGR solenoid that would do something like that???

Re: DIY Boost Control Solenoid
Hey, what about using a line lock solenoid????? Those would have to be normally open and then close when you turn them on. Summit has them for like $40. That might be my solution.
