damn you turbonetics...

They decided a couple months back that they won't be rebuilding any more Racegates. Which is exactly what I need done. So instead of spending 50 bux on a rebuild, they want me to spend 450 on a new racegate.

Anyone know where else I could get this thing rebuilt? Would Innovative touch it?

What needs to be done to it? I'm sure they will sell parts for it. If the seat is fine then a rebuild would consist of a $20 diaphram. If the seat needs to be lapped a local machine shop should be able to do that.

Turbonetics said they won't even sell parts. Needless to say, i'm a little dissapointed.

I'm gonna go take it apart and see what I can figure out. What should I look for?

A ripped diaphram, it usually occurs around the valve. Are you having problems holding boost? Way does it need a rebuild?

I think it should be rebuilt because I can see exhaust coming out of the valve at idle. Don't think that's normal. I would think it should have a complete seal, but perhaps not.

I'm going to try some of the compound that engine shops use on valves. What is that stuff called exactly?

Turbonetics doesn't even have the parts to rebuild the "old" racegates anymore. Thats why they won't sell the parts to you. Innovatives gates are totally different and they don't have T-netics racegate parts either.

I hope that this lapping compound did the trick. The valve has a nice smooth finish now and it should seal better than before. I'll let you know tomorrow when I try it.
