D1SC owners, what piping did you use from the blower to the elbow??

I was thinking about upgrading my piping from my blower to the MAF in my car. I believe the piping I have in there now is from ATI, but it doesn't line up exact (you can see in the pic the inlet side of the elbow is aimed a little low). Is it possible that by changing my pipe to something larger would help less restriction allowing more boost?

Any comments and or pictures weclomed.

Here's a pic from an F1 setup on an LS1 car. This was the size of tube I was considering. Anyone know if this would help with restriction? Or would I just be wasting my time?

Aren't you using Bob's piping? That's his piping pictured here. All I did was add 4" so I could get it to mount up to the elbow off the TB.

No. It came with the ATI kit I got (I didn't get mine through Bob). It seems to be the same daimeter as yours, but the angle is off. Mostly I am just trying to figure out if by getting a larger one in diameter it will give me more boost from less restriction.

Sweet! Now the real question is... how do I get something that big to fit with the ABS box in the stock location?

Don't know just yet. Whatever pump gas will handle and until that gets boring.

So I take it you have not had it out and checked the boost level?

Yep. The car is just now getting buttoned up for this spring. I had some things I needed to look at with the engine, so I decided to go to some shaft mount rockers and Diamond pistons while the engine gets assembled at Katech.

With the Heads, intake and displacement I have, I have a feeling that I will be limited by the blower, but I feel it should be pretty close with pump gas.

I'm conservatively estimating about 12lbs, we'll see!

Can you close your hood w/ that 4" piping? Looks good!

Ben-

You are limited with your tubing choices because of the ABS module being in the way. Are you wanting to just replace the elbow, or everything that is up top in the engine bay? The elbow you have is the ATI piece, but it's nearly identical to the Trick Flow piece I have. Here's a pic of mine, but notice I don't have the ABS. My setup won't fit on your car.

Thanks for the info Josh. Do you believe I could pick up any additional boost by changing pipes (the one connecting the MAF to the blower) to a larger one? If so, I'll probably just have to make a call, whether the ABS is really worth it to me to keep or not. If it's not going to make much if any difference, I'll prbably just leave it as is.

It's hard to tell from your pic (it's really distorted on my screen), but it looks like yours is 3". Mine is 3.5", but I doubt you're going to see much of a gain in power by going up. You would definitely NOT gain any boost, but MAYBE lower intake temps. What are your temps now (back when you had the car tuned)?

Maybe we shift the ABS box further up into the engine bay... it can't be that difficult to bend some lines and drill new mounting holes.
