D1SC owners, please step inside...

How loud is the D1SC? Prefferebly how loud is it with 12psi of boost at idle? Can you hear it whistle loudly? What about wide open throttle, or even just driving it through town?

not all that loud really if you have everything mounted the way procharger sends it. but def. noticeable. when you change things like venting it to the atmosphere it makes more noise. i guess wide open throttle would depend a lot on your exhaust setup. might not be able to hear much of the blower over your exhaust if it is not muffled well.

hope this helps. i had the D1SC on my 2000 ss with 10 and then 17#'s. and you WILL hear it at idle. i could hear it at cruise with the windows up at just 1300rpms and i had long tubes no cats and no muff's. my friends said they could hear the s/c from 6 cars ahead while sitting at a light. and 1/8mile away while just cruising at 30mph at around 1300rpms.

My car does not look anything like a sleeper, nore does it sound like one, and thats the way I would like to keep it. I was kind of hoping I could hear the whistle both at idle and when I am driving it. I knew a guy that had a Vortec with 13 psi boost with a big cam in his Mustang. Now granted it was a FORD product but all you could hear was the whistle as the cam lobed. It sounded great, and I would love to have a similar sounding car.

Ben-

It really depends on the blower itself, and the parts that are used to build it. The one on my car is quiet, but the one on Kurt's car is loud. If you want it loud, ProCharger can send a loud one to you.

You'll probably be getting a call this weekend through Al on the blower. And as mentioned before, yes, I would like a loud one. Thanks also for your help with all of this. It has been much appreciated!

if you just want loud and dont plan to go to big on a motor the P600B is about the loudest kit out there, mine was nuts, I love the way it sounds but it looks like im going to try to get rid of that to get a bigger one for my new set up. heres a vid of mine

Re: D1SC owners, please step inside...

The motor is on my 383, and it has plenty of the best parts money can buy on it, and I am already set on the D1SC (it was ordered a couple days ago).

What is the difference between a loud D1SC and a quiet one? I thought there was only 1 D1SC kit available. Is it just how it is set up? Anyone?
