d1-belt problem-help

okay i finally order the 12 rib 15# set up for my newly upgraded d1.
the idler pulley wasn't even close to fitting but i managed by making some bushings. but whats up with this belt.
it was all i could to to get it on and now i can't forsee how this tensioner is going to fit. i almost thought the intent was to run the tensioner from the inside pushing out. i just don't see it fitting on the outside like is used to.
any help would be appreciated as i nees to fix this the by monday.
thanks

You're not giving much of a description here.. Is the belt too long, too short? THe tensioner sounds completely wrong.. My 12 rib tensioner was large enough to fit an 18 rib belt easily ..

The ATI instructions say to put the belt on the supercharger pulley, under the tensioner and on the crank pulley AND THEN bolt the crank pulley into place..

i know my explaination wasn't to good but you seem ed to get was i was saying. i'll give it a shot but it just looks like the tensioner is going to be way up near the one line that comes from the waterpump because the belt is so tight to start.
thanks for the help.

okay i tried again, no luck. the tensioner pulley is wide enough. the problem is the position.
if i have the belt around the small pulley then try to go under the idler with the belt around the large pulley but not mounted yet. there is no way i would get this this back on the crank without raising the idler right up into the water pump sensor.
my unit is over two years old, is it possible that you guys have a totally diff. mount? anyone have any pics?

If ATI sent you the belt, send it back and have them send you a K120420 as it's an inch longer and should cure what ails ya

thanks,
just got off the phone with them and that's what they're going to send. just puzzles me that my setup would be different. i know i must have a different idler arm or everyone would be making their own bushings.

Thats because ATI is dumb and will not go back and fix all the running problems with the LT1 kits. Supposedly the new kits are really good but they never fixed any of the problems with the LT1 kits. I don't know if I have much more than the intercoolers and head unit left from my orginial 'kit'.

The belt needs to be an inch longer
The coil bracket is wrong (unless they did fix this)
The tensioner is **** (call SD Concepts and fix it now)
The inlet piping is crappy (make a solid one)
Make it a blow thru instead of suck thru
Get an actual bypass vavle instead of the carb choke thing they are using now.

So yeah...get an inch longer belt....I'm done ranting now

So True!!! Had I known better, i wouldn't have bothered buying the kit, I would have just pieced a custom one together.
