Custom 321 SS bending

Anyone know of a source that will do custom 321 stainless bends in low volume? Burns webpage says they have a 50 bend minimum, and I only need 6.. well 6 tubes, would be 12 bends. I'm going to build some new headers this winter and would like to minimize the number of welds to make them look more professional. My current headers have ALOT of welds on them, but look OK after coating. I'm looking to make some swept straight forward peices, going manual steering and relocating the alt to get rid of the accessory bracket. Basically I am trying to get rid of some bugs in my current system. My radiator is to small right now, so I have to get a new one, and I might as well utilize the new void in the engine compartment from mounting it straight up and down, also I would like to run some form of aftermarket valve covers, as my stock ones don't seal real well on my AFR heads. They always leak!

hey man ide be interested in something like that, maybe if they build two sets they'll be cheaper...my setup is very similar to yours so i bet the same headers would work with little modification to my setup...and yeah my headers are ugly...way way to many crappy welds...lol

Did you leak test your headers with all those welds. I had to go over mine a few times and fix all the leaks.

not under pressure, i just filled them with water and found leaks...but there just painted right now, not coated...so its not a big deal to weld up a leak, i didnt want to coat them and then be welding on them and ruin the coating

Will,

How did you interface your Megasquirt with the Optispark, or did you get rid of it?

haha, i cheated...the megasquirt II has an internal coil driver circuit, so i am only using the optispark to throw spark, and it is still powered to drive the stock tach, im not using the stock lt1 coil or ign. module, just a regular blaster II cylinder coil. To trigger the MSII i used a crank position sensor from an obdII car, which is a 4x sensor with 4 equal spaced teeth, it gives a nice square wave with an output of 5v, one signal per ignition event, perfect for the megasquirt in the Hall sensor setting...now all i need the is proper phasing for this sensor vs. tdc of no. 1 cylinder, which i think i may have figured out, but well see...

when i get it all running correctly im going to make a write up for others, cause this is the best bargian for any stand alone ecu, and nobody has seemed to be able to make it work on the lt1 yet.

and hey, i wanna see some updated pics of your car, it was btw what motivated me to build mine

Re: Custom 321 SS bending

It's pretty much the same as it was before, I have added a new intercooler (36x6x3.5) that I built, and a pipe from the intercooler to the Throttlebody that retains the stock hood latch.

I deleted the crank pickup long ago to utilize a double roller, so I guess if I wanted to go Megasquirt I'd gave to get the intake drilled for a distributer.
