994rwhp 863rwtq LS1

We were playing around with our shop car on the dyno and got some new numbers.

994rwhp 863rwtq through a turbo 400 and a full 4 inch exhaust system exiting at the bumper.

This is with a mid frame Innovative 88mm turbo, turbo system built in house.

Sportsman 370ci iron motor. Stock crank, eagle rods, diamond pistons

out of the box AFR 225 heads

LS6 intake, 78mm throttle body

236/242 112lsa cam

22psi boost, 23deg timing, C16 fuel

We are now disassembling the car and building a twin system

Jim
What is the a/r on the housing? Damn I did not think a medium frame T88 can make that much rwhp. Impressive#.

Sweet, throw another degree at it and get it over 1000

That's extremely impressive through an unlocked TH400. I think most people discount the difference that makes. I bet it would pick up over 100 hp if it had a 6 speed.

What, exactly, is a "mid frame" turbo? Is it somewhere between a T4 and T6 exhaust side?

Also, the cam choice is interesting. I've seen some data suggesting that the ever-popular reverse-split turbo cam may not be the hot ticket. What was the logic behind the cam choice?

Thanks.

The turbo has a T6 inlet, but it's physical size is inbetween a T4 and thumper.

The cam was just some more experimentation, following my general belief that most good naturally aspirated grinds make great turbo cams. ( I do tend to favor single pattern cams on tight LSA's, whereas reverse splits on a very wide LSA seems to be 'trendy')

That's funny. Based on a good experience with the GM 847 in a NA motor ('89 Firebird, 11/1 383, AFR 210's out the box, 234/242 "847" cam, Victor Jr., Holley 750, shorty headers and 3" single exhaust) which ran 11.09 at 122.7 mph at full street weight including A/C, me and my friend (a long time Turbo GN guy) have always joked about using that cam in my LT1 turbo motor.

The spec's are very similar to your LS1 cam, just 2 degrees difference on the intake. However, I think that the 234/242 would put the rpm range higher than the T-76 can support on a 363 cid. Then again, I shifted the Firebird at 6200 and do the same with the turbo 363. . . Hmmm. . .

The obvious solution is to mail me the T76 and go buy yourself a 91.5mm.
