try taking off the pulley, and rotating it one hole to the right, so that the hole that each bolt was in is now in the hole next to it, see if it gets any better

I'm not sure I'm following you. The hub is fine it isn't the hub. I ran the car just to make sure and it's centered. The spacer and crank pulley are the problem since I tapped the holes off the hub off centered. Thanks for any recommendations.

Well I figured it out. Talk about forcing the situation. It explains why I had a hard time installing the spacer and crank pulley. Gonna have to slot the spacer. I rotated the spacer 3 times to see if was the spacer itself. It is. There is no way it'll go on w/ the way it is designed well at least mine. Clearly needs slotting and the crank pulley comes slotted.
Thanks guys for all the help!

Well at least you didn't need a new damper. No harm done. That is amazing that you were able to force that on. I would check the bolts to make sure they are not bent.

That was the 1st thing I checked. The bolts are thick and not the standard ones that come in the kit. I'm amazed I didn't strip the threads.

Thumbs up

Yep I'm glad too as I was really pissed and dissapointed at the same time. Got the spacer back from the machine shop and cost me 15 bucks to do. Put it on last night and I'm now good to go! I was so ready to just wrap it up til I ship it next April/May timeframe.

Now to work on my VE tables to get my AFR a little leaner @ idle and I'm good to go. Weather holds up I'll have it on the road finally after 2 yrs.

Hey guys. In theory does anyone know whether that balancer itself can be removed seperately from the actual hub itself since I'm using the BB hub? It appears 6 studs are holding it to the hub assembly? I was looking at this picture here from another thread and it had me thinking. If that's the case I'll be able to get that crank pulley centered correctly at a machine shop in the local area.

Thanks for any info.
Silas

yes, the balancer and hub are two seperate pieces. there are dots on both from the factory that you use to line them back up. is that a small block hub that is split in that picture? what kind of belt system and how much boost were you running when that happened?

Yes that's the small block style hub but I'm running the BB hub/crank snout but how it's connected to the hub is exactly the same. I got that pic from another member 10secz running a YS trim cogged and 10psi when that happened. Not my engine but you can see the diameter of the snout here.

Thanks for the response!
