Arrow Could use some advice (exhaust)

Hi all, I want to upgrade my exhaust. First off it's a 96Z, Vortech T-trim, aftercooler, 6lbs of boost...making about 370rwhp. For exhaust I currently have SLP 1 3/4 shorties, stock dual cats, into a Borla cat-back. Was thinking of changing to Hooker 1 7/8 coated long tubes, into a Y pipe, high flow cat and keeping the Borla. Would this worth while improvement? Pros and cons are welcome as well as any different possibilities...Thanks!!!

Re: Could use some advice (exhaust)

The majority seems to lean toward the long tube set up. I contacted Lngenfelter performance on this very issue whe I was in the proccess of selecting my camshft. They actually told me that for supercharged apps, the mid-length or shorties would be better for scavenging purposes.

I too, would also be interested in knowing if anyone has real-world numbers on a shorty vs. long tube F.I. application.

Re: Could use some advice (exhaust)

My TPiS 1 3/4" mids seem to work great. That goes into a Y pipe with no cat and a 3.5" Mufflex cat back. I would say a good 1 3/4" mid length set up is the way to go for a setup like that. I would guess that the dual cat setup is killing you a bit even if they are high flow. I don't think LT's would gain you that much for the money your gonna spend. If your looking for more power at the track, then I would say put a cut out or two in there for the track.
