Closed loop, no "breaking up"....

To continue my "breaking up" post.....Why would it NOT "breakup" under boost when it's in closed loop, or in the evening when it's cooler?
"Breaking Up" is detonation, correct? When it's cooler the air is more dense, yet when it's cooler out, it doesn't (or very little by seat of the pants) "break up".....Closed loop is the same way...(usually hand in hand with cooler temps outside)
I don't understand......Because it won't hold rail pressure, and it does the "Duh,duh, duh" during steady throttle, i assumed it's a fuel pump issue, going lean...but it should do it all the time.
Just doesn't make sense to me.....
If it was an ignition issue, or plug gap issue, it should do it all the time.....New intank pump is on it's way, new MSD superconductor wires and NGK's too.
I hope this clears the problem, i'm really itching to hit the dyno and the track.
If any one has any other suggestions, please let me know....
Thanks

When the car is in open loop the 02 sensor are not working and warm up fuel is being added, thus a rich condition. So your miss could be related to too much fuel. Also you should not be beating on your car until it has reach operating temp.

Hmmmmm.....I get "open" and "closed" loop mixed up.....Thanks sleeperz28.
I don't normally go into boost before it's up to temp, but if it sits for an hour or so, when i restart it the A\F ratio gauge holds constant. (i take that to mean "startup" condition, open loop?)....
But after it warms up the AF ratio gauge "tracks" from the bottom of the scale to what i assume is the actual reading...(always rich), and then it breaks up....
I pulled the plugs today....and they are ORANGE! Very lean apparently....So, i look back to the intank pump problem, not holding rail pressure....
It seems to make sense then that in "open" loop, when it's getting extra fuel, and it doesn't breakup under boost, it's lean........
Am i on the right track?
Thanks
