Re: Carb enclosure?

Man, I was gonna do the same set-up but after talking with several guys who have personaly done the set-up i decided against the carb enclosure, The main reason is that the guy who is gonna build the turbo set-up for my 383, built a big block turbo motor with a carb enclosure in a boat. He said it ran like a bat out of hell but when he would let off the throttle then gas it again it would cause a real lean condition, i think he said it ended up frying the motor. He told me that for drag racing it would work but since I'm building my 383 for roadracing he insisted I go and get a F.I. set-up. I believe the guy since he told me to spend the money i was about to give him for the turbo set-up on the Fuel Injection system and come back when I was ready. But this is just one guys personal experience, you may want to do a little more research on it, talk to the guys over at www.pro-touring.com and see what they say. Oh yeah, plus if you got a nice efi set-up you can get a knock sensor that retard the timing under detonation just for added security.
