Re: cam motions recommendation for my car

not enough info really, what did you tell them your "purpose" was, I mean what do you expect? what's your desired rpm range? street car? street/strip? weekend warrior?
What kind of horsepower expectations do you have?
I don't guess I understand the "HOT LASH .010" Something sounds wrong there to me, but I'm no expert..

Sounds like it could be a 1400-1500hp combination.

Re: cam motions recommendation for my car

Seeing as those are MP turbo's I'm assuming that they don't have ball bearing center sections. Have fun getting them to spool with the .69 exhaust housings with a 355. I run PT-61's with the same housings and they spool kinda slow, they approach 4K to make 7 psi (just where I have it gated right now). I may step down to the .58 housings for my turbo's to get some responce back. I run an auto with a 3200 stall converter, can't imagine what they would be like with a stick. IMTIMID8 runs the .69 housings, but he has ball bearing turbo's and I'm sure they spool alot better.

jose said spool is almost identical to the pt-61's since they are still a small frame turbo, but your right, no BB's. im not too concerned about spool anyway considering i really dont want that much power on the street...just at the track, and its getting some n2o at the track to help that

intimid8-- you used to run non BB turbos right?...how big a spool difference did it make going to BB?

Re: cam motions recommendation for my car

Yeah, the N2O should help off the line!

How many people are doing this? I am thinking about using NOS to spool up my large frame turbo (see sig site). I could use my DFI to control the NOS and shut it off when the boosted section of the map come up. Has this been working for people.

Right now the car looks like a supra on the dyno...no power...then a 1000rwhp all of a sudden at 6500rpm. It is a BB turbo. 4000rpm stall on mine...I would like to know if the NOS works and how much?

Re: cam motions recommendation for my car

i think the n2o works exceptionally well to help spool...considering that the lower the rpm, the more n20 will make it into each cylinder...i plan on using a hobbs switch to control mine and cut it off just before full boost

I have the N20 partially installed on my car, but have never used it. Spraying out of the hole should help produce extra exhaust which will help the spool. I could use it on the dyno as well, on my old setup I'd hit 18 psi close to 5000 rpm, boost wouldn't build well on the dyno. On the street I could hit that by 3000 easy with an M6 (this was a PT-76 with .85 A/R on the exhaust) A little spray to full boost (or close) and shut it off would work well I'd think.
