CALL911 blower car down again ...
So there I am driving my newly procharged 383 LT1 home to Indiana from Jersey, and I broke down half way in PA. It ended up to be my pushrods being too long, and broke off a rocker stud making a silver dollar size hole in my valve cover. Once I got the car to Indiana, I replaced the pushrods with the appropriate sized ones, replaced all the rocker studs, and got a new valve cover. And no sooner had I had it all buttoned up, and my new waterpump decided to take a dump on me spraying coolant all over my new opti. Since the water pump was new, I got it replaced on a warrenty, but my new opti is fried, and I am out of money, patience and time. The whole reason I brought it back to Indiana was to put it away in a free climate controlled garage at my parents house for the winter before I deploy to the desert here soon. Perhaps I will end up changing to the coil packs like the LS1 guys next year.
Anyway, sorry to dissapoint those who were waiting on a supercharged video of my car. It will have to wait till next year. Other than at the dyno, and on the way home from the dyno, and a little bit driving it home from the motor shop, I haven't really got to open it up much, and therefore, no video taken.
Doesn't look like I was supposed to have the my car run this year.

Damn Ben sorry about the bad news. Luckily you didn't get it on it w/ the pushrods being too long. How did you know they were too long and was this a shop that built your engine? Again sorry to hear the news.
Stay safe out there in the dirt.

Yes, I am stationed at McGuire.
My pushrod length was 7.450 (almost LS1 size). The pushrods were the original one's from my 383 when I bought it from a friend with only 500 miles on it. I drove it with those thength pushrods for 8k with no problem (probably because then my cam was fairly mild) so when it cam time to change up my 383 for the D1SC, my motor shop figured the pushrods would still be good so they never checked the length. I think it was my much larger cam that caused the longer rods to raise high enough to brake the rocker stud.
The pusrods are actually still in perfect shape and are now for sale if anyone are interested (Manley 7.450 for $85 shipped).
