Bunch of questions for my PTK/T70 setup
Bunch of questions for my PTK/T70 setup
Ok here it goes..I have a bunch of questions that need answers. =)
My setup is prety much done. Its a 355 with trickflow 62cc heads and a cc305 cam spinning the engine to 6k(rev limiter set to 6200).I have a MP70 with a .96a/r and im using the PTK gen2 hotside with my own cold side(obx 12x24x4 with the LS1 front end conversion) Im going to be running 10psi and spraying meth. Hoping to make around 550rwhp on 10psi...safely. The car is a 6 speed.
1. What size oil feed and return lines do I need and where can I get them..price?
2.Am I going to need to run a restrictor in the feedline for this turbo?(MP70)
3.Where am I going to have to tap my oilpan for the return and where do I get a source of oil from?(I already have the pan off the engine so its easier to do...)
3.What injectors/fuel pump do I need for 10psi?(ill be using water inj.)
4.Should I get an aeromotive AFPR or can I use my stock one?
5.Fans??? I plan on tilting the radiator straight up so I can probably fit something a little bigger in there...well thats all I can think of for now...

I'll try to answer this... I've pretty much just completed all the same stuff, but with a slightly different setup.
1. What size oil feed and return lines do I need and where can I get them..price?
Feed line: Earl's 4' -4an line from Summit. You'll also need a 1/4NPT to -4an adapter to screw into the block and a 1/8NPT to -4an adapter to screw into the turbo.
Return: -10an is pretty standard (5/8" tubing). I bought an aluminum -10an turbo oil drain flange on ebay and used a straight -10an hose barb + a foot of -10an (5/8" ID) aeroquip hose.
2.Am I going to need to run a restrictor in the feedline for this turbo?(MP70)
Probably not... You only have to if oil can't drain fast enough. You'll only be able to tell by trial and error. If oil is getting into your intake tubing, then put in a restrictor.
3.Where am I going to have to tap my oilpan for the return and where do I get a source of oil from?(I already have the pan off the engine so its easier to do...)
Front of the pan. I did it on the DS at the top, but my turbo is in a different spot. You'll likely have to do it in the same location due to the opti.
Oil source is a plug in the block just above the oil filter. 1/4NPT.
3.What injectors/fuel pump do I need for 10psi?(ill be using water inj.)
Racetronix 255lph setup and mototron 60s should be good for 10 psi. If you plan on going a lot bigger in the future, get yourself a twin pump setup.
4.Should I get an aeromotive AFPR or can I use my stock one?
Use the stock one. Don't worry about upgrading that. It will work with a twin in-tank setup up to 750rwhp.
5.Fans??? I plan on tilting the radiator straight up so I can probably fit something a little bigger in there...well thats all I can think of for now...
I'm just using the stocker, so I don't have any input here... Spal makes a nice twin setup, but I don't know how well it works compared to the stock setup.

I'll snap one for you during the day if you want.
Mine is not at the top as posted earlier... It was at the top when the pan was upside down.
Just make sure that it's low enough to be downhill from the turbo.
oh with the restrictor..ill be running a mellings HV pump with the high pressure spring(not HVspring)..would this make a difference if i needed the restrictor or not?..oh and snap the pic for me please. =) so I can see exactly where its goin.
