build my bottom end for 800rwhp

Time to start building my car for this race season. Been getting alot of suggestions on how I should build my bottom end so I just wanted to hear what you guys think I should buy.

To make things simple, I was thinking of getting these

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=46098

and these

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33620

Probably would change the rods to Eagle H-beams

Do you think this kit will handle what I'm looking for? I mean, I'm not looking for too much. It's only going to see 2K miles a year tops. Going to run a T88, stock ported heads w/ 2.02/1.60 valves.

What do you think guys? Should I think more expensive or should these do?

I don't think the bottom end you picked out on ebay would last long on 800rwhp. I am no expert but here it is
Cola crank- don't know what size your looking for
Oliver billet rods-again don't know what size
Custom JE pistons-size?
don't be cheap on the shortblock is my advice.

really didn't want to be cheap. Just didn't want to spend money were it wasn't needed. 800rwhp is not much for a 383ci so that's why I didn't think, or was told I needed extremely expensive parts. Don't know, what do you all think?

On the main caps, I would go with something like the Pro Grams. You can check out the thread below about some of the main caps. I personally would no go with Eagle but they are decent. If I was building to that kind of HP, I would go with a little better quality crank at least.

Check out http://www.dyno-flo.com for a eagle rotating assembly. They will piece a kit together with what parts you need, like Jordan said. I would have the machine shop that is doing the block work do the balancing.

A little heads up on dyno-flo.

I bought a rotating assembly from them through a ebay auction and it took damn near 2 months to get it. Everything they sell is drop shipped. They list parts they don't have and take your money up front leaving you at the mercy of their distributors. Email and phone support is lacking as well. There are better places on the net, just do some research.

Re: build my bottom end for 800rwhp

I bought my Eagle rotating assembly from dirt track thunder. I stumbled on their business while searching for cranks on ebay. I got their Forged 3.48 stroke crank shipped to my door for $550, then also got their Eagle Forged H-beam rods to my door for $350. Throw in $600 JE extreme duty pistons and your less than their $1800 price tag. I used Speed Pro Forged Blower pistons, they cost $330 for 8 of them. Ballancing should be $150-200 at a machine shop. So you could save a hundred bucks if you go the JE route... Pays for the rings

I am not sure if you have done anything yet, but you might also want to try revolutionary performance, I have a motor on order from him right now for a 94 vette recieving a D1SC setup.. price was fair and for the money I am getting a block with all machine work done already.. he also will add 4 bolt billit splayed mains for $400 bucks and includes the roller cam of your choice and all assembly and balance.. it is actually a very good deal.. and he is very knowledgeable of LT1's!

http://www.revolutionaryperformance.com/

give them a call, you might find that it takes all the headache out of what your trying to do right now, and they know all their parts are good quality (Eagle) and will work together, they have them in stock and can prep the package for you in short order! and not to mention they will clearance everything, get the hole dialed in with torque plates, line bore and hone the main journals to register the new caps to the block, use ARP studs and fasteners throughout. after pricing my build up which i did seperately, I wish I had gone this route instead!

HPE (Horsepower Engineering) quotes me ~$1500 for an all forged Eagle/SRP rotating assy (Forged crank, h-beams and SRp forged pistons).

Re: build my bottom end for 800rwhp

I got my forged eagle rotating assy from racenet.net. It took almost a month and a half, but I had it balance before it got here.

Price wasnt to bad, about average I guess. The parts looked great though.
