Brace or support for turbo??

So as the time nears to the finish of my turbo build(only need my shortblock to be finished). I was wondering about the small issues. one of those is the support of my T76.
What i mean is tht its kind of heavy and relies on keeping itself up by hanging from the hotside and the downpipe. Now this might be fine i dont know, but i had no idea if people built brackets to support the weight of their turbo, given my T76 does not feel as heavy as some.
But i also realize that the engine moves a little bit and thus mounting the turbo to a hard bracket could also cause issues as well by not letting it flex.
it might be a dumb question but i have yet to look at another custom job in person.
thanks.

Many turbo cars I have worked on have a brace from the turbo to the block, I'm not sure where you were thinking of mounting the brace to?

I think you will always want some sort of bracket connected to the engine to keep load off of the exhaust. If not you'll get cracking. Don't use anything BUT the block so the whole system can move/vibrate unconstrained. You should be able to see some examples at LT1boost. Jon has a lot of fabrication pics.

yeah i was thinking of going to the block with it. I just was unsure where on the block, but i guess that depends on where your turbo sits. Also i guess i just though about the block moving but the downpipe not moving causing an issue with cracking.
Thanks for the help guys, ill just have to wait til i get the motor in to see where to fab up a brace at.

I see no reason to have to bolt the turbo to the block so long as you use flew couplers in the appropriate places.

Yeah the very next day, i have a old post somewhere in the wheel/tire section. I have yet to manage a good set of pics with my camera(used my cell for the post) but im not gonna worry about a good pic until the motor is finished and i can wheel her out and polish it up.
