Is a BOV open during cruising?
Is a BOV open during cruising?
From what I've read, a BOV will open up when there is vacuum in the manifold. So does this mean that when you are cruising down the highway the BOV is open equalizing the pressure across the compressor.
Does this mean that you have to be at WOT(zero vacuum or close to it) to make it shut? I've never used one of these devices and I'm trying to figure them out. Thanks.

Re: Is a BOV open during cruising?
Please explain the fizix behind that one, if there is only one vacuum line going to it. Does it use the pressure on the valve to help it open as well? Assuming it uses a valve and not a slid...
Re: Is a BOV open during cruising?
Well on my TurboXS BOV, the boost pressure pushes open the BOV from the bottom, and the vacuum pulls it from the top. The combination of the two is enough to overcome the spring pressure keeping it closed. Geoff's explanation was better, but he erased it.
