Ok, I am getting my motor back finallly after 9 months of waiting and I have a question. The motor is a 388 with 9 to 1 compression and 6.0 inch rods. Everything forged and balanced on the lower end and running ported LT4 heads. The machine shop is afraid of me running more then 12 pounds of boost as they say I will concave the head. Any input on this? I know the Deck of the head is thinner then an AFR head but is this the max boost I will be able to run? Any input would be great. Thanks

 

I'm running a 383 with similar compression / 6" rods and 15#'s of boost.

I am running head studs also (definatly reccommended).

You'll be fine as long as it's tuned right.
