Hey guys,

My boost guage is reading 8lbs on the vacuum side when the car is off? I dont think this is normal? Anyone have any suggestions? The guage is fairly new. Let me know,

Thanks, Greg

I'm pretty sure your gauge is bad

any other thoughts, i have it hooked into my brake booster line that goes from the brake booster to the intake. Is this maybe a problem?

Hmm, they all seem to vary a bit, but 8 is a lot.

What elevation are you at? Atmospheric will throw them off a little bit, but 8vac is a lot.

I think its between 500-1000 feet above sea level. My mechanic told me that the guage should be at 0 when the car is turned off.

Zero is atmospheric pressure. This is what you should see with engine off.

What does it say when idling?

I don't think many people run off of the brake booster. Try moving it to the intake.
