Block fill, leave main caps on?
Block fill, leave main caps on?
When you doing a partial fill of a block, Moroso states in their instructions to bolt and torque on a head. It mentions nothing of the main caps. Leaving the main caps off would make leaving the block in a near level state ideal, but if the mains caps are installed the block will most likely need to be on a stand.
Also when filling do you keep the freeze plugs in, or remove them as your just filling up to those holes anyway. It would give a good place to add the filler in as well.
I'm just curious how anyone here did it. And yes I had to get a new block, so I figured as no machining was done to it I might as well fill it. THis will only be a partial fill

Re: Block fill, leave main caps on?
I think you should have it in a engine stand, when I did my block I leveled the engine stand and did one bank at a time and I did torque caps and both heads on.
The mains still needed to be line honed and I only did a very short fill, to the bottom of the lower frost plug.
