The goal now is consistency and keeping everything together. The original plan was to pull 600 rwhp and keep it in the low 11s at 5800 ft/altitude. The 12-rib pulley was slipping on the dyno and we were getting inconsistent results, so I went with the cogs. The cogs have proven much more consistent and gained over 50 hp on the same setup. If everything goes well with the new tranny and the current setup, we may take it to some sea-level events and see what it will do.
You are expecting to gain 90 rwhp when your tranny back? It must be slipping pretty bad. Glad to see that the D1SC can take some abuse. You mean 700 rwhp is not going to be enough . I am hoping to pick up another 50 rwhp with my new front mount intercooler.

The valve-train should be good to 6500, but I'll probably keep it to 6000. Not sure where I'll be in the powerband at the end of the quarter. We're going to set shift points on the dyno and then adjust them at the track. This setup raps up REALLY quickly. The S/C is definately not finished at 5000... All of this is guesswork. It's still a dyno queen...

I'll be totally tickled if the numbers don't go up at all and it is just consistent.

Seems like you have all the right parts to go fast.

Nice.

I like where your going with your setup. Please keep us updated when you get the chance.

How much of the setup are you doing yourself?

"355 with a turbo" just has a certain ring to it.....

Thanks.

I'm doing it all myself. My tech here at the shop is a master welder and he's fabbing all the piping. I'm using a set of headers off another application turned around backwards. They fit nearly perfectly with very minor modifications and are $1000 less than the PTK headers I was originally going to go with.

LT1camaroman93, I didn't even pay a third of what that turbo costs retail. A buddy of mine bought it in a turbo kit for his Skyline and ended up not using the turbo. He had it sitting around unused and unloaded it for a good price.

That's what happens when you take a full year to build one. The original plan was to put a D1SC on the stock bottom-end with 64cc heads to lower compression and just run 8 lbs of boost. At that point I was stock tranny, stock rear w/3.73s, longtubes and FIPK. Pulled the heads for the change out and found the engine totally gunked up. So we pulled the motor. Once I'd built a fully-forged bottom-end, and put in a blower cam, we started doing the math and came up with 500 rwhp. It went on from there...

Just think how much room it'll open up if you do the k-member while the engine is out... Gotta go 12-bolt... Then I saw the front mount intercooler on someone's car and had to have one... Suddenly 500 was 600... on and on... The nice thing was that the car was paid off and I finally had some $ for mods.

With everything said and done, I've spent less on it than if I'd moved up to a new one, so I guess I'm ahead of the game in that respect.

I'm going nuts waiting to get it to the track, though...

Oh well, only a few more weeks to go, hopefully.
