Best street suspension

I didnt get much results from the suspension section. As my car sits right now im pushing 1000wrhp. My car is a daily drivers so I want the ride and cornering to go with it. I dont visit the track much. The car is a daily crusier 5 days of the week and the other 2 a warrior.

Somin up. I need a Good hooking/ride/cornering shock/spring combo? What has worked best for you if this fits your profile. I dont want to fork out for the QA1 adjustables at this point. I got a good deal on a pair of eibach pro kit springs so I picked those up for now. Im a little more concerned with the car hooking better. From the phone calls I have made some say stay with the stock springs and others say the eibachs wont compromise weigth transfer/hooking. Thoughts?
My original plan was the pro kit with the bilsteins. What has worked best for you on the street

Considering, your not not going for the full track setup, good just for driving in a straight line, I say bilstein would be a good choice. I doubt your stock shocks will last very long with the stiffer eibachs. So get the shocks. Recently, I was at the track and a V6 Camaro was running 1.7 60's, full track setup, it was a daily driver and he said it was horribly to drive. I'm more interested in a setup for good overall performance especailly handling and if your the same the eibach and bilstein is a great combo.

Re: Best street suspension

Do yourself a favor & get the best adjustable shocks you can afford... preferrably double adjustable.

Stiff performance non-adjustable shocks tend to hurt your launch. With a stock spring rate & the front shocks set to a soft extension it will hook pretty well. By stiffening the shock, handling will be better than stock with only a few minutes of adjustment.

Double adjustable allows a good overall compromise & even allows a softer front spring to be used with little effect on cornering. Obviously this is not for autocross, but under normal driving you will hardly notice the difference. You will never have a good dragrace setup & cornering at the same time, but with the turn of a few dials you can get pretty close.

WOW...whats your combo that yields 1000rwhp? I am not criticizing you but you have 1000rwhp and completely stock suspension?...if so you are nuts....if you haven't already you'd better invest in a good 9" or 12 bolt if you haven't already. I am really just more interested in what your combo is to make that kind of power.

Hey Sleeperz28 your car sounds unbelievable would you post or email me some pics of your car? I for one would love to see it.

Thanks,
Jon

Re: Best street suspension

Jake,
I have helped a friend with a blower car that is a stock suspension car with QA1's all around, and a air bag in the rear, the car has 1/2 the power you have and has 60 footed a 1.40's and ran 10.80's on et streets. I would not put the lowering springs in, but probably would try relocation brackets and good shocks, it would help your car a ton.

It's a custom twin turbo LT1 setup. Twin GT40s I believe, and 383 or 385 cubic inches.

Re: Best street suspension

I have been very happy with my 1LE suspension. Good ride and handling and did not prevent me from running 10.02 at the strip.

I thought he was asking about suspension setup and not about rear end or other stuff..
guys do a search his car is all over the forum...

I am on the same boat more or less... not expecting that much rwhp, but. I do plan on driving it 100% on the street. I do have Koni DAs all over and sport line springs. I am more concerned about the rear sway bar than anything else. If i want it to hook i don't want to compromise cornering for being to stiff, specially here that roads are not that good.

Re: Best street suspension

I noticed your not looking to spend alot of money, but check out air ride technologies (I think) I saw one of their cars doing before and after on TV.

Im almost shure you can change settings to take corners, launch and cruise on the highway.

OR contact griggs racing and have them figure up some spring rates for your car. I dont know if they can build the springs for you(they do mustangs), but they beleave in still having weight transfer ect. One of the guys using their suspension is cutting 1.5 60's on 315 nittos and its a road race car/.

Im shure if you talked to them they could come up with some spring rates for your car, then you could have someone else build them if they cant/
