Best price on procharger?
Best price on procharger?
I am hoping to be purchasing a procharger before summer. I was hoping for either the p1sc or d1sc. My current application is a 91Z with a 5.7. AFR 190 heads, ZZ3 cam, 24lb injectors, chip burning equipment, 700r4 by probuilt, slp runners and intake/plentum ported, crane hi6 spark. I want to find the best price/deal..... Anyone know where to purchase the ATI for a good price, please let me know!
http://tbyrnemotorsports.com Thats where I went, bought a d1 twin IC for 3600.
We offer VERY competitive pricing for the complete line of ATI superchargers and can also offer tech support as needed. ATI is now pretty strict with their pricing so your going to notice alot of their kits will be going up.

What happened to my post about recommending Lonnie Pavtis?
Last time I checked I didn't delet it and I didn't say anything bashing T-Byrne
The other people that agreed with me about Lonnie also had thier posts deleted?

I must say...I love this Board and really love what you guys have done here but this is the first time that I really saw something on here that made me sick. What happened to Freedom of speech. I Believe, I could be wrong though, that Lonnie has never Advertised on here for himself. All he has done is help folks out with problems. And I have recommended him too in the past for his great tech expertise and great service, the same way I would recommend a certain brand Long Tubes, or a shift light or a supercharger over another brand to best help the next Z28.com Member. Whats next, I wont be able to recommend Eagle rods because its made in another country.
I think if a Paying Advertiser complained and made you do this, I understand, I think its would be shady of that Advertiser but I would still understand..
Just Voicing My Opinion.
You may delete at will, I will not get offended but I figured I would post it here cuz I know MANY others feels the same as I do but did not say anything..YET..
Thx for listening and I hope you dont take any of this personally cuz that was not my intention as I stated I was just voicing my opinion.
Claude
Hope you don't mind me jumping in but I think I can provide a decent explanation on this one.
This is always a touchy subject and it is often met with misunderstanding.
Hey, we do our best!
This is a VERY popular misconception.
Freedom of Speech does is not defined so you have the right to say WHAT you want, WHEN you want, WHERE you want. If that were the case, life would be very chaotic.
Since this is a privately owned, non-government controlled web site, the First Amendment does not apply.
Posting here is not a right, it is a privilege.
Having said that, we try like hell not to have to limit people on what they say, we just aren't those kind of people.
This is correct, Lonnie is a good guy and has been around here for quite sometime. This is absolutely nothing against Lonnie.
That's also not what this is about. This site is free because of two things: hard work by volunteers and the financial backing of those who help make ends meet. Those who help make the financial ends meet are not doing it just because they like us. They are doing it because they are a business and the main reason they support this site is to get something in return. If they stop getting something in return for their advertising investment, they will pull their advertising wich then makes this ENTIRE site suffer.
The problem with this particular situation is that Tom has offered his services (which he has the right to do so since he is a Supporting Vendor) and others were directing people away from him to a non-Supporting Vendor. Recommending a non-Supporting Vendor is fine if it is done with the right intentions (you have absolutely no idea how many times the intentions are not directed at just helping out another member...but themselves on the sly), the right amount of discression and the right timing (not "stepping on the toes" of someone else).
We have to ensure that our Supporting Vendors are getting the "money's worth" and they have to ensure they are not paying for something that someone else is getting for free. It is important to us, the Supporting Vendor and the site as a whole because if this site's financial status is compromised, it won't be the great resource that many have worked hard to make it into.
We like to think that if someone needs something, they go to a Supporting Vendor of this site FIRST. Usually, the deals and service are second to none and going through a Supporting Vendor is a way of saying "Thanks for supporting CamaroZ28.Com". That makes them feel good about being here to help us out with running the site and helping you guys out with good deals. It is intended to be a hand-in-hand relationship.
We don't like to hinder anyone from getting a good deal, good tech advice or just from having a good time. It is just that we do have to make an effort sometimes to ensure the continual fairness overall.
Believe, me...it is an incredibly fine line that we have to walk when it comes to this. It is not always easy but overall, we are just the best we can.
I hope this clears it up for you and anyone else.
This is always a touchy subject and it is often met with misunderstanding.

Jason,
I can understand what you are saying and also appreciate what you do. For a second Lets get off the Topic of Lonnie here.
1. Now that Jet-Hot is a Supporting Advertiser, would it be wrong to see folks in the Lt1 tech section post a thread stating "Jet Hot LT vs Hooker LT" and some guys bash Jet Hot for not having clean welds or because Hooker is better cuz they fit easier and been around here for a long time and make a great product. Would something like that be considered a Z28.com Member(S) voicing thier opinions or would that be Locked or Deleted because its a bad publicity against a supporting vendor. Cuz I see that All day long on Lt1 tech. How is this that much different?
2. I see Many Folks, EVEN MODERATORS that have recommended on a Post of Z28.com other NON paying Advertiser that they love to use or have done business with in the past. How come that is allowed?
I can see now what you mean about the fine line to do your Job....
(MY Opinion) Mabee we should just let Members give thier advice and recommendations like we have done in the past....And Keep Paying Advertisers doing thier post on the Supporting Vendors section and making great deals. I like this Board a lot, even enough to pay a small fee each year to say what I want to say, recommend who I want to recommend and bash who ever deserves to be bashed by making a bad product or poor service like I have done in the past. I am the type of guy that likes to share with folks good service or a great product and other products and companies they should stay away from.
Deleting someones post because of a certain recommendation is really in bad taste IMO. I know you have a Job to do and I am not here to make it any more difficult than it is but if things are to be changed, I would much rather see things changed for the better and not the opposite.
Trust me when I tell you that I am not the only one that feels like this....
Again Jason, I am not trying to be a Jack@zz to you or anyone else here but trying to voice my opinion to make this board better or keep it going great....Not for it to start making steps in the wrong direction.
Thx,
Claude

Here you are mixing two differnt instances. Every single situation is a little bit different and has to be dealt with accordingly on a case-by-case basis.
On a side note...companies like Jet-Hot use constructive information to make their products better.
2. I see Many Folks, EVEN MODERATORS that have recommended on a Post of Z28.com other NON paying Advertiser that they love to use or have done business with in the past. How come that is allowed?
And it is CamaroZ28.Com.

I know it sucks for some, and we hate to see anyone unhappy but that's the way it has gotta be.
Jason,
Hello, I feel compelled to join the discussion as I am the one who originally recommended dealing with Lonnie.
OSMOSIS asked for opinions/recommedations and 94SLUG recommended T-Byrne and I recommended Lonnie BEFORE T-Byrne offered his services. Then other people agreed with my recommendation of Lonnie and then T-Byrne joins in and WHAMMO Lonnie is thrown out of the sandbox
There were no ill intentions on my part w.r.t. T-Byrne, just satisifaction with Lonnies Performance Automotive.
We don't like to hinder anyone from getting a good deal, good tech advice or just from having a good time. It is just that we do have to make an effort sometimes to ensure the continual fairness overall.

I first met Lonnie on this board over 4 years ago after posting a similar question and am very thankful that Lonnie was/is a member of this site as his assistance and knowledge in supercharging is very helpful and informative.
I am not affiliated with Lonnie, I'm just a happy satisified customer who is offering his opinion with regards to Lonnie's prices, service and tech support. As a result of getting into supercharging, I have spent alot of money on product with supporting advertisers.
As I mentioned in my original post that got deleted, there is a huge learing curve (and dollar amount) associated with supercharging and it can be overwhelming for a newbie and Lonnie has offered excellent advice, speaking of that.....Lonnie has been a member of this board for many years and I did a search for a post he made a while back offering some technical advise and it was gone and his post count is 112? Why did you bust him back to almost newbie status? He couln't have pissed off T-Bryne that much?
They pay for the right to do that. In that case (which is similar to the one in this thread), no one needs to start stepping on their toes. They deserve to try to get a return on their investment for supporting this site. It would be entirely unfair otherwise.
Tom stepped in to this thread to make an offer to potential customers and a potential sale. That is what he is here to do. It is not fair for him to support this site to try to earn business and have someone hijack the thread taking away that potential business.
[/QUOTE]
Again, I am the one who recommended Lonnie and I said nothing negative about T-Byrne. Tom was already recommended and represented on this thread so if anything T-Byrne stepped on Lonnie's toes and got our recommendations deleted even though Lonnie had nothing to do with this. I could see Tom being pissed if he started a "Sale at T-Bryne" thread and I jumped in praising Lonnie but that was not the case here.
So are we only supposed to say good things about supporting advertisers and bad things about non supporting advertisers? You know customers can have bad experiences with supporting advertisers too but I guess we are not allowed to say that?
Perhaps an unmoderated (or loosly moderated) "Vendor feedback" forum is needed where customers can give good / bad feedback regarding their experiences with vendors (not pricing discussions but real vendor feedback without fear of having their post deleted).
I appreciate what you've done with the site as this is an excellent board but for a minute I almost felt like I was on LS1Tech.com as I mentioned someone else BAM it was deleted.

It is outlined right here:
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=218277
Don't turn this into us against Lonnie. We have NO PROBLEMS WITH HIM. ZERO. He is a good guy and didn't do a damn thing wrong and I never said he or anyone else did.
I gotta tell you, I don't appreciate the insinuation that we are vindictive enough to "penalize" someone in that manner. If you think that is the kind of people we are, you better get to know us better before you jump to a harsh accusation like that.
so if anything T-Byrne stepped on Lonnie's toes

See, this is the reason I am reluctant to make a decent post explaning things. I get backed into a corner because people don't like the answer that I give and I start getting hammered on. Frezza gave his explanation and that wasn't good enough. I offered to explain it further and that wasn't good enough. I could have just been an *** about it said nothing or I could have just deleted the post and let you guys start over. I thought it might be nice to offer an explanation so maybe someone would see it from the other point of view. That is looking like it was a mistake. This was never meant to be open for discussion.
I have explained it all and said what I need to say. Sorry if you don't like it but I am tired of trying to defend myself as well as tired of repeating myself. Nothing personal, guys but you gotta leave it the way it is.
Jason,
Hello, apologies for the "Busting back to newbie" comment, I didn't read the post about the "glitch" in the system. I was looking for an old post and saw his post count was down and just assumed the wrong thing, sorry.
I realize this is not a "us (er, you) against Lonnie"
I didn't mean to get you going and I do appreciate you taking the time to give a detailed and articualte responce.
