Basic questions about homemade turbo kit (non fbody)
If I end up keeping my truck, I'm looking to boost it, most likely a turbo. Now I know the basics of how a turbo works, but not really whats neccesary to make it work.
I have a mostly stock 318, I assume it could probably handle 4-6 lbs of boost without issues if done properly. What type of turbo should I be looking for? Other then having a new exhaust manifold fabbed up, what needs to be done to make it work. Again, sorry for the newbyish questions, but I'm boost retarded.
I assume you have to punch a hole in the oil pan and run a line to the turbo? or are some self lubed? Then you need to connect the outlet of the turbo to your TB obviously.
Is there a newbie guide to turbos somewhere I could read up?

I would go w/ a Garret To4 60-1 compressor, and a minimum of .89 AR housing if you run just a single turbo. A single should be sufficient enough for what your looking for. Theyre relatively cheap too.
You just need to read up and do your homework on turbos and the biggest pieve is supplying the proper amount of fuel.
