Banks Twin Turbo Setup NOW for Sale

I just spoke with a technician.. 800hp on a 350, with no intercoolers and 91 octane, guaranteed? bolts right on a 4150 holley flange.. using what looks like modded stock exhaust manifolds.. Available turn key motors or just the twin turbo setup...

Re: Banks Twin Turbo Setup NOW for Sale

I picked up the latest issue of Engine Masters magazine a couple weeks ago and it's displayed on the front cover. This is actually a complete deal.... built on a Dart 4.125" bore 6.0L 23-degree-headed small block. The turbos sit like those on chris chow's GN... except they're mounted on manifolds that resemble the stock LT1 manifolds. The wastegates are trick pieces.. called BigHead^(R) Wastegates. They're supposed to give a flat boost curve. They might have some more info and pics on the website about it ( www.enginemasters.com ). The 6.0L equipped with 100 octane and an intercooler made over 1100hp.... with about 850-900tq from 3800 to redline (flat as a table). Banks rates the kit to 1600hp though. Pretty slick

I'm sure the price for that engine/turbo system combo is astronomical, someone post it up if they find out.

Re: Banks Twin Turbo Setup NOW for Sale

personally, i think the design of their turbo kit is very unimpressive.

its two cast stock-like manifolds upside down, feeding into a large hat that sits on top of the throttlebody.

wheres the "wow"? i guess all the chrome is supposed to distract me.

ive seen plenty of joe rednecks make the exact same setup out of junkyard parts.

and BTW, it will not fit in a 4th gen fbody.

They will sell the parts seperately tho, so the manifolds, turbos and wastegates would be yet another option for a DIY setup. And the turbos *might* fit under a fourth gen... have to get some measurements on high they sit to verify.

in a different thread someone said they called and asked, and banks confirmed it would not fit a 4th gen.

My banks kit should be here in a few weeks. I figured I'd give it a shot on my 434 SBC.

Also, if you're interested, I have a Banks Power area in my forums where Jason Wilcox, the head guy in the TT program, is taking questions/comments about the their setup.

I normally only post in the 'classic tech' section, but saw the Banks post and thought I'd make a post.

Sure, if you'd like to check it out, we can work something out. I know Eric wants to come down sometime, too.

Re: Banks Twin Turbo Setup NOW for Sale

a procharger boasts that it can almost double horespower when intercooled, what is banks boasting it can multiply the N/A power by? What gains did you see, from N/A to the bank twin setup?

What will?

I ran out of room with a P600B/8 rib on a Fluidamper with a BeCool radiator & Perma-Cool 12" fans (cooling issues= 240+ degrees).

I swear almost everything having to do with this had .00000001" clearance (especially the piping for the FMIC). Tossed the P600B & reinstalled the stock fans = 185 degrees . Now I have an oil leak around the pan where it was clearanced for the stroker setup (not SC related) .

A turbo setup would appeal to me since it does not mount on the front of the motor if it would fit but I can see the nightmares of ducting intake if you run it below the heads. I suppose you could always run it hanging out the back off the tailpipe .

EDIT:
Just read this thread and it looks like the rear mount idea (STS) is an actual kit!
