hahaha. thanks chris. I called Apexi usa, and they say it won't work on a fbody. even tho I know it will(there is at least one person on this site that has one..)

You can download the instructions on the apexi website. Although good luck with that...They are written in pseudo engrish. Very detailed wiring diagrams for just about any japanese car, but not much for us.
It will at least tell you which wire is for what. So that should help you a bit. Not sure if all the functions will work with our PCM's, but there cant be that much difference in the signals that we have compared to other cars.
Their wiring diagrams kinda scare me too...they basically tell you to hook all the wires up into the PCM harness...even the power and such. Not sure if I like that idea.

Go onto boardreader.com and do a search for "AVC-R Install Instructions" or whatever. You will find them on the supra/dsm/etc.. boards. All the same stuff pretty much applies to our cars, there isn't really that much to hook up. The one thing that I don't think you can get to work would be the inj. duty cycle, but it doesn't really matter.
I think all you need to connect to would be pcm ground, power, tach wire (can get it from aftermarket ignition), tps wire, and maybe a couple other I can't think of off the top of my head.

Also, do you have any pics of how you mounted the AVC-R? I've seen it on ricers around town but they tend to have more cool little holes in their dash for stuff like this.
In another thread, the S-AFC was mentioned. Is this basically like a MAFT or what? Can it be made to work on our cars? Sorry I'm so full of questions!
can we please get some updates on this. i have my turbo parts in the garge right now and i am trying to figure out my fuel control system. i plan on running a FMU and a SAFC2 with 72# injectors and a impedence box and tunercat to fix for the injectors and a few other things. do you guys think this will work?
I was told by one of the local speed shops in Milwaukee that they stopped selling the AVC-R's due to having to return alot of units for repairs. They now carry the Blitz boost controllers and have had alot better luck with them. I have no experience with either yet, so I can't comment on the quality of either unit, just wanted to pass the info on. The AVC-R's have really come down in price over the last year though.

I persoanlly think that the AVCR has to many bells and whistles that are not real world friendly. Perhaps becasue i am old school but I like to keep things simple. I personally am going from a stone age manual BC to a Greddy Profec B. It has a great track record and will get the job done with out spending a week to figure out all the fuctions and how they realate to driving or racing. If anyone has any thing to add as to why they picked that BC over anyother I would be ineterested to here it.

just fyi, the AVCR was simple to setup.. I haven't really played with all the features, but I know the ability to adjust boost vs RPM and gear will help with not only street use,but autoX use.
