Just installed a custom made set on my D1SC equipped third gen. It whines slightly louder than my blower!! Is this normal? I hope so cause it really sounds sweet!!

 

Mine make no sound at all.

 

Could it have something to do with the pitch of the teeth? My belt is a Gates belt, 50mm wide with 8mm teeth.

Willie-running the 35 MM here-not sure what the noise is you are hearing-the cogs and belt can be run with much less tension than a 6 or 8 rib set up. ??? Good luck.

 

I appreciate the response anyways. All I know is that with my previouse 12-rib setup, all I could hear was the blower. I still hear the blower, but you really have to listen carefully because I've now got this other whining. I'm assuming it's coming from the cogs/belt.

And yes, much less tension!! And most importantly, no more belt dust!!!! Thanks again.
