Anyone powershift into 5th?
Since I shredded the teeth off of my 12 bolt's 3.08 ring and pinion this afternoon, I was thinking of reinstalling my old 4.10's and attempting some powershifts into 5th at the track.
Has anyone tried this? Just trying to figure out if I'm guaranteed carnage.
BTW, a 3.23 gear would be ideal for my car but I cannot find one for a 12 bolt. Any leads on that would be appreciated as well.

I would'nt try it Jim. A friend of mine toasted his 5th gear BAD by doing that.
BTW, your new setup is killer
That has to be alot of fun.

Im just interested to see if anyone has done the viper internals running 9's and not having to take the tranny out a few times a season.

Well, I just threw an old set of 3.55's in there for now.
The problem is that the engine only rev's to 6k, so I run out of rpm with 3.42's, they don't make 3.23's, and 3.08's are a bitch to launch.
I'm going to change the cam and a few other things to try and get it to spin to 6,500, but then it will likely have more power and still run out of gear with 3.42's.
A T-braked turbo 400 and 3.08 gears sure would make things easier, but I'm not giving up just yet
