Any air to water cooler guys

I'm getting ready to install an inter cooler. I'm wondering how you guys are set up. Do you have the cooler on inlet or out let side of supercharger? I mean do you have the air go through the cooler then supercharger to intake or set up like an aftercooler? Just trying to get some ideas. Thanks

Hey! You must always install any type of charge cooler after the compression stage. It is the compression of the the intake air charge that causes the heat that you are trying to get rid of with the charge cooler. Good luck on your build-up, keep us posted! -Michael

That's correct, trying to cool the air before the compressor would make almost no difference.

Pressure drop across the intercooler is not really very significant. In most cases you'll see less than 1 psi drop after the intercooler. It kinda depends on the application though.

How did any of you run the tubing because I looked earlier and I don't see how the tubing will fit.

Re: Any air to water cooler guys

I'm still putting mine together, but it takes a 180 curve off the outlet of the blower down through the hole that the factory air intake used to go, then to the cooler, then after removing the battery and relocating it to the rear you can take out the factory battery tray/coolant reservior and there is a hole there to route the cooler piping back up into the engine compartment. I'm on the computer at work right now, but I can send you some pics when I get home. Mine is an air to air, but I believe you were wanting to mount your's in the same space behind the bumper.

I dont have a hole bunch of pics of mine yet, the pics of the red Z are mine and the white Z belongs to someone else, but I'm routing my intercooler piping the same as his. The only difference is I'm retaining the ABS on mine, you just have to squeeze the pipe through the area where the factory air intake went.
