Any advantage to monoblade in blown alcohol application?
Any advantage to monoblade in blown alcohol application?
PLEASE NOTE THAT I DID A SEARCH ON BOTH MONOBLADE AND MONOBLADE + ALCOHOL, AND FOUND NOTHING THAT ANSWERS THIS QUESTION.
================================================== =========
Talking in terms of either the usual monoblade (I think it comes from ASM...?) or in terms of the FAST monolade that is meant for use with their FAST system. (The one that looks a lot like the LSx monoblade.)
I should mention that I understand that there may be an advantage to using the FAST system itself, but I'm not asking about that.
Talking strictly in terms of a monoblade as opposed to a twin-blade, specifically in a blown alcohol application; is there any INHERENT advantage to a monoblade, or is strictly a matter of taste or personal preference?

Re: Any advantage to monoblade in blown alcohol application?
Well, the monoblade will have more area than a comparable "two hole" TB. So I suppose it's simply a question of "how big is big enough?" Obviously, lowering intake restriction is generally a good thing. But to decide if they were going to be any gains of the larger TB over the smaller, I guess it would depend on the rest of the intake tract. IOW, is the TB a restriction or not?
BTW: I am a little confused. Most people mean a manifold mounted Rootes type blower with a carb or mechanical FI when they refer to "blown alcohol". What are you you referring to? My answer assumed EFI with a stockish manifold and a centrifugal blower. Are you going to run this type of combo on alcohol?

I also need to figure out if I am better off with a MAF or if I should make it an SD system.
