all people with the twin intercooler ATI

im not sure how much of this is true but, i was told that the plumbing is a huge hassle, and not woth it. i dont want to think that beause i know alot of the high horse power cars are runnin them, i need the ground clearence and need cool air. i just want to go 6# t/i all bolt ons. i think that the person that said that obviously didnt know what they were talkin about.

It is a hassle, but not a huge one. It really isn't that hard to do. Some tips for putting it together that I have found is to warm up the rubber parts using a hair dryer or a bullet heater (its winter here still) and that makes the rubber really pliable and it will aid in putting everything where it needs to go. If you don't wanna go that route you can use a little motor oil on the inside of the rubber parts. It allows everything to slide around during assembly and will eventually get absorbed by the rubber so it won't cause anything to come loose later. I have used both methods with sucess. It takes a little time to get it all placed right, but its far from impossible.

I had never even put headers on a car before i installed my blower and just about everything else on it.... well i cant take all the credit my wife was a big help but i set up the intercooler in my bedroom to see how everything would go together before i even tried to install it and it helped out alot. and knowing i wont have to upgrade so is a nice thing to know also the ground clearence alone is well worth the effort oh yea the extra power from the nice and cool inlet temps is a nice touch also

if you want some pics of the intercooler setup let me know i have pics of it all setup in my room and what it looks like in the car

I'm just going through this process right now. I had to buy some extra rubber hose for the connection between the two metal pipes between the passenger intercooler and the blower. The rubber connector they supplied was not long enough to connect the two pipes.

Also, for the air intake to the blower, I had to cut the rubber 90 down and also cut the rubber hose between the 90 and the air filter in order to place the air filter in a position that didn't hit the other intercooler hoses.

The position of the bypass valve connection on the rubber 90 for the blower intake was also in a position that it was up against the blower outlet tube. It took some tight squeezing to get that to fit!

So yes, some modifications were required, and it was a bit of a PITA, but I would do it all over again if given the choice. I like the fact that they do not reduce ground clearance. I know I won't be damaging expensive intercoolers.

It was no where near as hard as getting my headers to fit!
