Alky injection instead of twin coolers

Could I just run water and alky instead of running alky and the twin coolers? I would get a nice progressive system so i could have control over the injection. Can the water and alky keep the temps down to a acceptable level during a 100* summer day in TX? I'm just wondering if i can remove the all extra tubing and not have to worry about the hoses coming off. I'm shooting for about the 550+ RWHP range with ATI D1SC. I hope to get to drive the car two or three days a week.

If you get the boost cooler, I'd go for the stage 2 which allows you to set it up so that the alky/water injection comes on at whatever boost level you want. Have you been to http://www.snowperformance.net ???? Check that out. Very nice kit.

How long can I run the pump before it gets too hot? And can it cooler the intake air to an acceptable level?

That kit looks to be the best one I've seen so far.

I am using water/alcohol injection and no IC and the car runs pretty good. Mine's from www.kennedysdynotune.com

Do you drive your car on the street? What are your intake temps.

Rich, do you have any dataloggging info? I'm interested in "before/after" the water/alky. I've heard that it will drop down to ambient and/or very close. True?

I see IAT's in the 140 degree range with 80 degree ambient at the end of the 1/4m.

That's an interesting setup! My question is: what happens if that water pump goes out? Is there any warning light or chime? I don't think I would like to see what happens if that pump dies and then you try to make a 1/4 mile pass with no form of intercooling...

Well, it'd be worse if your fuel pump took a crap!

Rich Do you drive the car on the street? I would think the alky pump only gets used on hard full throttle runs. Alos What is the longest run that the pump has been on at one time? like on a highway run.

It only activates at >3psi of boost. Essentially at WOT. I doubt if I have ever been at WOT for more than 6-7 seconds from a roll as that would be well over 150mph.

Maybe. If the fuel pump dies, your car will die out very quickly, and the shortblock will probably be fine. That alky pump dying allows your engine to run full boost with no form of intercooling...a sure way to scrap a $6K shortblock.

The setup obviously works, as evidenced by the power you put down. I just don't wanna see something bad happen to a fellow f-body owner.
