Alky-Control kit

Just received my alcohol (water) injection kit from Julio at Alky Control. Just thought I'd post a picture and confirm the completeness and quality of his kits. This seems to be top-notch and the instructions are very comprehensive. Highly recommend and way cool!!!

Ya, it is very straightforward. I love the gain **** for small tweaks in AFR. I mounted my pump in the passenger side fender. Then I wrapped the braided hose with corrugated black plastic for a stealthy install. Its a very high quality kit.

Let me ask you a question. What kind of attachment did he use to put the hose into the factory window washer tank? You can't get inside to use a nut to secure the inlet.

It's not an easy task, but they did a nice job. I'll post some more pictures of the tank.

Steve-Where did you mount the tank in the passanger side fender???

Congrats on the purchase! I've still go to order mine but I guess I'll wait til I'm stateside in a few months. I know what you mean about space. I literally have none for the pump or the **** controller. I hear he can also do the **** controller vertical and that may be an option for me.

Did you go dual nozzle? That's what I am getting.

I wish I had a pic. The PUMP is bolted to the frame rail right under my Trans Am headlight. The tank is in the stock location. I barely had enough washer hose for it to reach. I brought the pressure hose through the hole in the fender next to the battery. Then it screws into the bottom of the elbow about 5 inches in front of the throttle body out of site. I brought all the wiring into the cabin through the hole in the firewall behind the PCM.

Man I am ordering my kit here in 2 weeks, but I am wanting to change some things up on the kit.
What fittings are those?? Aluminum or Brass??

Everything looks really good with the kit, but I do not like the reservoir the Meth is held in (looks like the stock peice) where could I get a different reservoir at?? Is the reservoir just plain plastic?

I have a Vertical radiator and I am trying to think of a place I can put it but I just want a box style reservoir.

Who here is running the dual Nozzel setup, I know Jeff Gilbert is and that thing flys, lol.

The fittings that come in the kit are brass, which are 100% compatible with methanol, but I will change what I can to AN fittings in order to match the existing underhood fittings and hoses (I know, I know...no performance gains, but based on what I have spent so far, it's not a huge expense)

Julio will sell you a modified stock windshield washer fluid tank (pictured) or for less money, he will sell you a smaller, universal type of tank (still with the necessary fittings and low fluid level sensor. I purchased the Camaro style tank hoping it will fit my application, but was told that I could return it for the universal tank if need be.

I have a huge FMIC, so I opted for the single nozzle system, based on Julio's recomendation, but was told that it can easily be converted to the dual nozzle if needed. Also, since I already have a 3 bar MAP sensor, he excluded that from the kit which lowered the cost. He really is a great guy to deal with and is very accommodating.

You daily driver guys aren't running threw a lot of meth are you (depends on the Throttle I suppose)??? I may just run the stock sytle tank, depends on how long the smaller tank could last.
Anyone have any more pics, what about gains.

I know a guy on here with a D1SC went from 648RWHP to 720RWHP just with the meth.

I have a FMIC as well but the cooler the charge the better IMO for a FI car. Dual Nozzle with a FMIC would be

The tank in the picture (Stock '96 F-body tank) Holds approx 1 gallon and it has a low fluid level sensor with a light to mount in the dash. There probably isn't a day that goes by that I don't open the hood when I am driving the car, so I'm not too worried about running out of alcohol.

I bought five gallons of 99% pure methanol from a candlemaker store near my house at 2.80 a gallon. It looks like it is going to last me about 6 months running straight methanol. For a street car this is a killer deal. It is like running race gas but without the cost.

The alkycontrol kit has a low level led which will begin to flash going around corners at half a tank. It also has a pump pressure light that has two colors red and green. The red comes on at about 1 psi to let you know alky is flowing. The green comes on at about 4 psi when it the pump has reached full pressure. It is a very safety oriented system.

It also has a gain **** which is helpful if you have a wideband in the car. I've noticed on very cold days I have to tweak the AFR because it gets a little lean. This is nice because I don't have to reflash the computer. Everytime I reflash the computer it takes a few days for the computer to relearn all its cells over again. This is on the fly AFR tuning just like the LS1 boys have.
