AFR target w/ 25# Boost

I'm going to be doing a favor for a racing buddy of mine. He's got a GN running 25# of boost. I'm going to put my WB on and we'll take it for a few blasts. I'm pretty much a forced induction moron at this point. I know you typicaly have to run FI a bit richer to help avoid detonation. What AFR do most of you guys tune for? I know every setup is different. I just want to make sure this guys setup is conservative as far as fuel and timing. He's been having head gasket problems. He runs 11.20's in a 3600# car with six 50# injectors. I told him I think he's out of fuel.

On my GN I like to run it a little on the rich side, so I shoot for 11.7-11.5 at the richest. I've run as high as 26 with race fuel at those AFR's and had zero knock. Any leaner and I started to see some small knock.

He's running race fuel for sure. Thanks for the feedback. 11.5:1 is kind of what I thought for a conservative tune. I understand there's now a high impedance 60# injector out now that really works crisp at idle and won't lock up at high pressure. We may be heading in that direction if his 50's go static.

Thanks again

Yes motron has the new 60's. They are good injectors, and they will idle just fine.
