9psi

WHOOO HOO..

Just took the new motor out and got on it for the first time.. Its around 70 degrees here and the car made 9psi from the time i got on it until i let off.

Datamaster dyno is saying 430-460 rwhp @ 5200-5300rpm.. This is without the water injection. Its in desperate need of some more tuning. (wish i had more time)

Time to put pulleys on it.

By the way,

The camshaft i used is super super small. You can basically consider it a stock cam.

The big goal was a super bad *** car that gets great gas mileage.

nothing pisses me off more than 2500 suburbans, excursions, avalanches and H2's... or people driving cars daily that get horrible horible mileage. Before anyone gets pissy go to cario egypt or mexico city and look up at the haze and breathe in that dangerous air. Realize thats whats coming for us when everyone's housewife is driving a special purpose vehicle with no special purpose.

Off topic but automobiles are not the reason for such extreme global conditions. Our government pollutes lots more than we do with their coal/oil burning power plants, lack of public transportation, dirty runing military air craft, limited corperate guidlines ect......

My 500hp fuel burning 1960s style runing Camaro is not the reason for our wonderful brown haze over Denver. If we could ride trains like Europe has, there would be no need to drive everywhere, its our goverment fault. Look at the reason Mexicos air is terrible, its not from automobiles.

Nice job on the car! Sounds radical, and I must say its a hell of a achievment.

Yeah i know other things cause it besides the cars but.. where i live everyone drives suburbans with gross weights over 4600 pounds and they tow absoulutely nothing, have no family, just want something big and hip.. that urks me big time.

The big trucks and cars with horrible gas mileage aren't helping.. I think the trucks are way way worse usual car case. I'll never forget seeing 12mpg on the side of a durango and 10 on the side of a avalanche or 12-16 on a suburban and just know that the thing will never see a farm or pull a boat and more than likely be driven daily to run errands.

I mean, those new hummers are quite rediculus don't you think?

Its really hurting our gas prices... making us more dependant on the middle east too.

I wish the goverment would step up on a train system like europe has. Also, theres a way i use to go home (only way really) that is about a good 35 miles of stop and go traffic.. you probally go for 400m and then come to a stop the whole way. Thats crap.. time the lights so we can keep a steady speed.

Sorry to rant, thats just something that really bothers me.

So what kind of mileage are you getting? Or is it to soon to tell because of the tune?

BTW, the government doesn't run most of the powerplants... Cars contribute nearly as much to CO2 emmissions (greenhouse gas) as do utilities. Lets face it, Even if we had mass transit, who would use it? Americans Love their cars.

mine has been getting around 16 around town.. Hopefully will improve.

It definately depends on where i drive it.. IE Charlotte I get 16-18 around town because you keep 45mph speed for a while..

When i'm in fayetteville I only get like 13 ARRGH.. but i believe this is because you serously stop maybe every 300 m there. You would have to experence it to fully understand. For instance.. a 1 mile strech of road will have 4-5 lights... you might only catch 1 IF your lucky. Its sorta a joke. They bought some multi million light timing system and it totally couldn't work any worse than it does. its always been sorta crappy in fayetteville even with the car totally stock.

I haven't had it on a freeway to tell you what that mileage is but i'm hoping to be 26.. it was 23 with the big stuiped cam before.. now its pulling 18inches of vaccum (whereas it was only lucky to see 15 before)

I must say, I'm a big fan of forced induction. Alot of NA cars that put down simlar dyno numbers are pratically not very streetable... I mean you could drive them on the street.. but they can't hold a smooth slow idle like mine, I have absoulutely no lope and I get considerablly better mileage out of mine.

If you think that is bad, take a trip down to NJ and you will see how bad it really is here....Trust me, you will be dying to get back to Fayetteville in a Hurry. But you are right, my blown car on the street seems to have better manners that most His Stalled, High cammed, High geared NA cars.

Thx,
Claude
