Which 76GTS for a PTK kit???
Which 76GTS for a PTK kit???
I have someone that can get me any turbo head unit from Precision Turbo for cost, and this new hook-up is the straw that broke the camels back... I've decided to commit to a turbo setup!
I need to choose a turbo that will work with all the PTK hot/cold parts, as thats the kit I will be using for this build. I see that I can get a 76GTS in varying combinations...
In GTQ or GTS trim... what the difference?
With housings that are...
On center .69 A/R
On center .85 A/R
Tangential .68 A/R
Tangential .81 A/R
Tangential .96 A/R
I assume the housings refer to them being "clocked" differently, which one work with the PTK kit?
And the A/R has to do with spool time, again which one? and why?
This kit will be going on a built 383, probably next year when I get done buying all the PTK parts. I know all about the need to build a complete car, you can't just go slapping on a turbo and expect nothing to break. I already have a Mcleod street twin, full bmr suspension, frame conectors (a Wolf 6-point cage to follow), Strange S-60 rearend with chrome-moly drive shaft, twin in-tank pumps (to be installed this winter), and a host of other supporting parts. About the last thing left on my list now is to build some power, and that's what I seek to do.
Just need a little help from the Pro's on the board...

What you need is a GTS with a tang. .96A/r housing
Wait a sec...
In all seriousness, Jose has alot of knowledge, especially with what works with the PTK kit.

You will see boost at around 3500-3800 on the street depending on the setup. You want a .96A/R with either cube. As for heads.....the larger the heads, the less boost you have to run to get to your target hp level.
