55lb injectors too much for my application?

I have been looking at injectors and have seen some 55lb. I am currently stock long block with 8 lbs of boost. I will eventually go to heads, cam and possibly stroker. Are they too big for right now?

Thanks.

Also, I see a lot for sale on Mustang boards. Which ones for Mustangs will also fit LT1s?

You can't put "too much" injector in a car. You could run up to 84 lb/hr and it would work fine as long as it's tuned. FMS/SVO injectors are the same as LT1's. Just be careful with the high Z / low Z issue. Most injectors over 42 lb/hr are low impedence and will burn up your computer.

I am pretty sure when you get huge injectors getting the pulsewidth down low enough for it to idle may be a problem. That is why you dont want injectors bigger than what you need ???
Someone prove me wrong. Please

With anything below about 95 lb/hr, the computer will cut pulsewidth and it will idle fine.

When I shopped for my 55# high-Z units, Racetronix (supporting vendor) had the best deal, but was out of stock of the Siemens 3172 units. I then tried to buy a set from a F**d aftermarket vendor in Georgia (nice people, very slow response) and ended up buying them from the "Injector Dude". My idle is somewhat choppy (especially w/ AC on), but I have not had anything other than a PCM4Less tune at this point, and the engine is not even broken in.

Amen. Reminds me of the commercial where the couple is looking at TVs, and the guy says "We might as well go big now, or we'll regret it later" and then they are looking at rings & the girl says the same thing .
