DYNO VIDEO

The specs on the motor and car are as follows

LT4 Competion heads Flow numbers are 324 241 @.600 2.10 1.6 valves
Jessel Pro Series Shaft mount rockers 1.6/1.55
Bullet racing cam 242/248 112 lsa 626/608
Edelbrock LT4 intake completely ported by Lloyd Elliot (no flow numbers)
Arizona Speed and Marine Mono Blade throttle body
Splayed 4 bolt main block
Callies Dragon Slayer Crank
Dyer 300M Rods
Custom JE pistons with Hellfire rings
F1A Procharger
Spearco Air to water intercooler with a 5 gallon remote reservoir
Custom built LTCC with relocated coil packs and custom Moroso Wires
FAST Classic Piggy backed to the stock PCM so Passing Smog is easy
Kooks 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 stepped headers with a 3 inch collectors
Custom 3'" x pipe and true duals to dynomax bullets and turn downs
Full Madman Chromoly Suspension with AFCO shocks
Rossler 4L80E trans with a brake and full manual valve body
Moser 12 bolt 3:73 Gears.
10 point wolfe cage with window net
10# halon fire suppression kit
Aeromotive eliminator pump with a #10 feed and #8 return 95# fast injectors

I am changing the pulley set up from a 80 crank 40 Blower to a 36 blower or a 34 blower depending on the belt situation. The blower isn't spinning fast enough. I hope this will add another 3-5lbs of boost.

I was only seeing 11.5-12lbs of boost on the FAST. This was with 24* of timing and a 11.6-11.8 AF as well on C-16.

That's really nicely done! Thanks for posting up. Could you share a few pics of how you did your air to water intercooler?

How is that cog on the M6? I've been contemplating that for years. Always heard it was bad for the blower? ATI has a sprag pulley system out now but that's some coin too. Just on the fence what to do. That a custom bracket for is all that from ATI? Looks good man!

The shifter looked familiar to me, and said "automatic".... the red cylinder on the lever in front of the shift lever is the reverse lockout release.... like the one I have on the B&M ratchet shifter on my TH400.

I think I have shared them on here before when it was a D1SC car. Ill see if I can find them. If not ill get some pics the next time its up on the lift.

The car is an Auto now. The 6 speed was to hard on parts and the car wasn't fun.

I installed an 80/36 tooth combo on the car now I hope to pick up a few more PSI and HP by doing so. The size difference is pretty big side by side.

The bracket and Cog-Drive is from House of Boost and it is a very well made setup, no cheap **** like Procharger sells.

Thanks,
I did see the photos you had on the other site and got some idea what it is. I like that drive kit you installed - that one you have looks pretty tough on there.

Thanks this car has been on this site for 14 years now as it has grown. A ton of work has been put into this ride for sure!

There's no give or slip with cog drives. When you run them with a manual transmission you tend to wear out or strip the teeth off the belts much faster than with an auto. It's also rougher on the guts of the supercharger. And those kevlar belts aren't cheap either. A good one will run you $80+.

Only overheating problem I ever had with my CSI pump was from trying to jump someone's dead truck. Car did not like being held at a high idle for more than a few minutes and puked a little water from the overflow.

80+? That's it?! I'm no baller by any means but I'll take that belt over a 12 rib any day. I've gone through 6 at over 100 bucks a pop! Now as for the wear on the ProCharger, I'll take my chances. I know a rebuild from them is 1400 and up but it's a weekend brawler nowadays the days of the Nurnburgring are LONG gone so no track time either down here in sunny FL.

Sorry, that was actually a rubber belt I was looking at. The kevlar & carbon belts start about $175 depending on the length, width & pitch you need.

Re: 383 AFR 227 Heads and an F1a @11.5-12psi

I too have a 97 SS 383ci w/ F1A Procharger/ MM6. Did my own mount bracket and belt tensioner mechanism. I run a 12 rib 42 inch. No slip. At least 12 psi. I also went to Hse of Boost for parts. Had to cancel and go to Procharger direct for an offset 3.4 inch pulley. Machined it to fit with a very low cantilever crank drive. Belt alignment is critical for an efficient drive. I will never go back to Hse of Boost. Much better customer service with direct Procharger contact. Maybe a little more cash, but, I'm OK with it. Now I machine all my own mount brackets. Alum or steel does not matter. It is quite difficult to package all that stuff in a 4th gen motor compartment.

Most of my former friends tell me I've gone to far, but, I'd rather have my modded 97SS than a 69 Olds 442 for $42k. Much better performance. B.
