well i finally got a motor back into my car. its stock with arp head studs and fel-pro head gaskets. i am running a modified turbo tech kit with a 5-7 pound spring in the waste gate and no form of boost control. the boost has spiked as high as 13psi and usually boosts above 8. i run FAST fuel ECU. i ran it for about 2 weeks easy with factory injectors while i waited for the 75# holleys that i have now once we got the holleys as soon as i started it up i fouled the plugs. car ran wful and shook terribly. so after a huge cut in the fuel map and a few other tweaks we got it running with a new set of plugs and it ran smooth as stock. spent a night around town tuning. the A/F stays is at 11.5 under boost and 12.2 out of boost and timing is at 15 degees above 100KPA on 93 octane. i made some passes at the local 1/8th mile and even though i drove terrible and missed most shifts i didn't run the times i wanted. we raced a local stock WS6 LS1 on the freeway on oly pulled like a car on him. my car feels faster than it did stock but no where near what i expected to feel at 10psi. it seems like i fouled another set of plugs at the track because i load fuel when i decelerate and A/F goes into the 9:1 range, car blows black smoke then when i get on it its fine. now my car idls crappy and really rough again and the plugs are wet. i guess i need to find away to cut fuel faster when the TPS reading drops so that i don't load fuel. the best time i got with factory injectors was a 9.2@83mph, with the 75# hollys i could only get a 9.5@81 but that was due to my crappy driving, stock i ran a 8.93@79mph(it was an automatic then too). i guess my question is how fast should it be with 10psi on a stock motor? i am going to get some new plugs in it tonight and try to see if i can get the fuel to cut better then head to the dyno hopefully this week.
anyone have any thoughts or comments on all this? anyone had the same problems?
