X-Pipe????
X-Pipe????
I was looking at the Jegs universal x-pipe kit that they are selling. Has anyone else used this or what is the consensus using? I enclosed the jegs link for the one I was looking at getting. Thanks for any help.http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...26075_-1_11525
I tried to use the jegs 3" univesal x pipe kit, thinking that i could just cut a little and bolt it right up to my headers, i was sadly dissapointed when the legs werent long enough. Ended up scratching the true duals plan, loosing lots of money, selling the x pipe on the board and going back with a y pipe and selling the car
managed to get mine to work on my LS1 w/ LT headers.
did alot of cutting a fitting to get things lined up (pita LS1 header collectors are not straight like LT1). but it worked.

Has anyone used this one successfully on an LT1 or what is everybody using to build their own X-pipe. I don't want to spend the 400.. for the one that Texas Speed is selling. I have heard great things about that one but it is still a litle pricey. Somebody on here has an x-pipe on their car so please let me know what you did. Thanks
I used the exact one in your Jegs link in the 3" version, but I did drastically modify it because the rear part of the X exists at too wide of an angle to keep the piping in the drive shaft tunnel for ground clearence.
Also had to modify the turn on the passenger side...the driver side input section fit almost perfectly with no mods.
Here's a few pics of the finished product.

I'd think that with any setup, you'd have to make similar mods that I did above in order to get it tucked up enough to not scrape. That red tunnel brace in my pics above scraped alot. With the X-pipe with no mods, it would not tuck up beside the TA very well and you'd have to let the X set as low or lower than my tunnel brace is in the pics.
Notice in my pics, I made a upside down "T" and hung it in the "X" and then mounted the other end of the "T" to the tranny tail shaft as a hanger. The exhaust is rock solid now and no bouncing, so them I remade the tunnel brace and was able to raise it about 3/4" and now its yet to scrape anything.
