whats needed for pace setter install?
Im thinking about buying some race style pace setter long tube headers for my 94 camaro. What all is going to need to be done for me to use these headers on a 93 or 94 lt1 camaro? Would it run w/ egr and emissions stuff? I would greatly appreciate any input thanks Matt.
If you get the offroad headers it will come with no air or EGR fittings.
As for everything you will need:
EGR delete plug - thuderracing.com
Header Gaskets - I'd recommend Felpro or Percy's
Header Bolts - Recommend APR. get them at Summitracing.com
Anti-seize - for header bolts. Autozone or local auto shop.
That's all I can think of now. I'd also say change you spark plugs out at the same time.

I don't run EGR on my setup and I don't have a tune either. It runs fine, with the exception of the SES light on the dash. But if you want a tune and your budget is low, you can get a PCMforless tune at PCMforless.com
My brother has had good results with them.

agreed^^^ the hardest part of this job is pulling the stock manifolds off. Heres some quick tips for this job, pm me for more info.
-Soak old bolts in pb blaster the day before, and the day off jus to do extra damage.
-helps if you do a tune up at the same time, i.e. remove all oil, oil filter, plugs and wires prior to removing manifolds.
-remove the steering linkage on the drivers side. two bolts, one up top, one on the bottom.
-get the car as high as possible, if you kno anyone with a 3 ton floor jack thats the best ot use. if you got a 2 ton thatll work too, you just might needto put it on some boards to get the car too where you need it.
-remove the air/egr tubes before messing with the bolts holding the manifolds on, makes it easier so your not like why wont they come out, when all the bolts are off.
-be patient, dont strip the bolts when you put them on.
-go back every couple days the first week to retorque the bolts.
-try to get 1" bolts, go to lowes or home depot and take a stock bolt with you, have them find you 12 bolts with the same thread, you should be able to get away with 1.5", makes more bolt hold into the head therefore less chance of losing one while driving and take away the risk of blowing a header gasket.
-LT's must go in through the bottom, easiest way, do the passenger side first, youll be glad when you get to the drivers side and it slides right in when you thought it was gonna take another hour like the pass side. lol.
good luck

Also, may as well get the Y pipe. I also had to buy a 3" adapter from autozone to connect to the 3" catback. Definatly do the plugs... it sucks though with the headers/EGR/AIR fittings in the way. Doesn't hurt to do motor mounts, i had to jack up the motor to get the headers in, so i put energy suspension mounts in, stock rubber was shot. Pick up some coolant because when the sensor comes out of the block you lose quite a bit. Also, my accessory belt was somewhat dryrotted- replaced. My car had 107k when i got it, i just wanted headers and Ypipe. When all was said and done (headers, ypipe, replaced motor mounts, belt, plugs, coolant flush, valve cover gaskets, heat wrapped plug wires, etc) i spent over $700. Just a heads up.
i appreciate everything everyone. But all i should have to do is get a tune right, to run the race style or off road headers w/ no emissions or egr? Ill be running duals. Im just worried about the running issue?
Tune
I would get a tune from Madz28/Pcm for less b/c w/o you will really have to watch for kr and even then you might still see some kr due to having no egr. There was a real good article in tech talk in Car Craft about not running a egr.My Mac mids came w/emission fittings and i kept the egr and used some plugs for the air fittings(this cleaned up the engine bay).
