so im finally going to upgrade my exhaust system, i have headers (not sure what brand, they were givin to me) and im giong to buy the magnaflow exhaust system, what else do i need?? (i am new to upgrading my car).. do i need new cats? a new y pipe? hangers? etc etc..

 

well that depends on your headers...are they shorties, mids, or long tubes?

Also what year is your car?

 

97 z28 manual and they are shorties..

 

The shorties can retain the stock y-pipe, but if you want to upgrade to one that offer higher flowing cats and a larger overall diameter, then you can upgrade that as well. While doing the headers, it would be a good time to replace the plugs, wires, and motor mounts.

 

just did a motor swap so plugs,wires and mounts are new..

 

you should have put the headers on when you had the motor out.

 

you are not lying my man... but i was strapped for time and it was a weekend and had no idea where to go to get them welded..
