Vibration

Anyone ever have vibration in their exhaust but nothing seems loose? It only seems to vibrate when sitting still. I never hear it going down the road at all and its not a constant its like a pulsing vibration.

Re: Vibration

Heat shields usually cause vibrations. Use your hand or a rubber mallet to see whats causing it.

Re: Vibration

Hit the exhaust pipe with a rubber mallet in various locations, to see if you can replicate the vibration. There's sheet metal heat shields for the catalytic converter, and for the fuel tank.

Also check the clearance between the bottom of the intermediate pipe and the sheet metal tunnel brace that is right behind the transmission cross-member. Common place for contact under some condtions.
