Hey, just wanted to get everyone's opinion on what is the most rational way of finishing a true dual setup... Here are the parameters:
3" exhaust all the way. It may be overkill, but I may have bigger plans in the future. MUST be true duals; just to have something a little different, so hopefully after reading this, nobody will say "I'd go with a 3" catback..blah blah" (Nothing wrong with it, just don't want it)
$700 max
Would like to have cutouts right after the LT headers, but that isn't a necessity..since it wouldn't gain more than 5-10 hp anyway i wouldn't think
GOT to have cats and a good set of mufflers
X or H pipe
So, what would YOU do with $700? The car is a 2000 Z28 with heads/cam/intake/LT's. With everything included, I was quoted $450 for dumped at the axle, $650 out the back under the axle, and $1100 over the axle. I'm still including over the axle in case anyone thinks that under the axle is tacky and retarded...personally I kind of like the look from the back and seeing pipes underneath..

You'll have to get one of those special panhard rods to do 3 inch over the axle. I'm not a fan of under the axle... might be a little easier, but I don't think it looks very nice. I'd just do dumps and spend the extra cash on something else. But what do I know, I've only got a 3 inch catback.

I think I will be going with the dumps, thanks for the response. I went back and he quoted me more like $1000 for under the axle.......
450 for dumps and then the extra few feet of pipes to go under the axle is another 550?? Maybe its a lot of work but no thanks. Dumps it is. How would everyone recommend setting the dumps so that there is as little interior drone as possible??
