ok so im living in CA and have heard alot about electric cutouts, and am wondering, would a shop here install one and still be legal? does the cat have to be removed or what? i have a 94' Z28 by the way. only would using it once and awhile for a little extra noise, scare some hondas

 

Of course there are shops here. I use Synergy Motorsports in Fremont a lot. Ask for Rick. You can add the cutout and keep your cats.

a 94 will only have one cat

and putting the cutout right before the axle loop...should still be perfectly legal

 

Hes from CA, all CA legal 4th gen f-bodies had 2 cats

 

From what i herd 96 was the only year they had dual cats for the Lt1s. I had a buddy with a 94 and has a single. As a matter of fact when i last had mine smoged they failed me cause i had 2 cats. I actually had to goto the dealer and get a printout of the 96 cats so they would pass me.

 

In CA, 93 - 94 single cat, 95 M6 single cat (my car), 95 A4 dual cats, 96 - 02 dual cats.
